24 posts in this topic

I am really looking for a job (im 18) that is ravens or somewhat nfl/sports related in the towson/baltimore area.. any ideas? anything could help..

I currently work for the orioles but only on days when we give things out like tshirts and bobble heads.. (im on a give away crew)

That just isnt enough hours and i could really use some more money

GL with that, my 17yo has been doing odd jobs since he has not been able to find anything--he has prom in 3 weeks.
He helped a widow clean out her house, dump runs for neighbors, mowed lawns and cleaned boats and some odd computer work. He did really well shoveling and snow blowing too.

Lets see Prom ticket 120 bucks, tux a 100 bucks, Dinner for 2 about 100 bucks Limo 850 bucks after Prom party 60 bucks, flowers and candy 50 bucks did I miss anything? We are helping my son out because its not like he is not trying to find a job for the last year or so. A lot of his friend's are in the same boat-- so I may do a little reception at the house with finger foods like pizza bagels, pig in the blanket, mini desserts like black bottoms, cheese cake and eclairs ( yes I love to cook) anything non-messy and sparkling cider--before the limo comes to get them. His date lives on our street and another friend that is going with him and his date live in our neighborhood.

Me personally, I'm a valet... the hours might be a little extreme (by possibly staying late) w/ school depending where you work... but it makes decent-good money.... especially for someone in high school/college.....

In the Baltimore area I'm sure you could find a few opportunities around there...

Biggest way to cut cost on prom is to find someone with a nice car and take that, save a ton of money since most of it is on the limo. From the guy's point of view it is a total waste of time haha, but you will get repayed at the after party my man. How far will you go?

Well first off I'm taking my date to one of three resturaunts.. My prom is at the waterfront Marriott downtown and were going to go to either roys, flemmings, or oceanair.. They are all around the Marriott so that we can just walk over after dinner and I think I'm splitting a limo with a bunch of guys to take us downtown.. But yeah to answer your question it's really expensive.. My tickers Are 160 the tux is about 100 dinner is like 200 and flowers I'm gunna say is like 50 and the limo will probably end up being like 150 for me.. So in the long run it's a lot..

Check on the fan and see if you can't find some of those 1/2 price dinning deals.. They may be able to help with the food costs. You basically get a gift card that you pay "X" amount but its actually worth twice that.

For a job, try to find something where you can canvas ( door 2 door) they actually pay pretty well for a highschool kid. Maybe even one of those guys who stand on the corners with a sign.... Try little ceasars and be a sign guy. I think they get 9-10per hour?

I'm in the same boat and I was just advised to write up a CV and put it into all sorts of retail jobs. Minimum wage (to begin with) and good hours would seem to be what you'd get.

I'm having to save for college and for; flight to Baltimore for the Miami game, tickets for the Miami game, money for hotel, food etc, flight from Baltimore to Atlanta and tickets for the Atlanta game and accomodation there.

Living in the UK makes watching the Ravens live helluva expensive...

But, yeah, I just wrote myself up a CV and put it into everywhere in hope that I land myself a job. Lots of places say "You may be too young" but last time I checked age descriminiation isn't allowed.

A CV, or Curriculum Vitae, is part of a Resume' describing your qualifications, educational career, etc.

The limo does put it over the edge BUT the back roads to Hunt Vally claim a senior or two every year and this is for my peace of mind. Boys will be boys and I can see them taking the turns too fast or a deer jumping out in the road. At least I know my son and his friends will be safe, its a mom thing :) AND we look like cool parents.

I get emails from the NFL about job openings. Everything from scoreboard operator to groundskeeper. I actually remember an opening in Cleveland for a scoreboard operator....I thought, now there is a "do nothing" job.

Anyway, I don't have any saved so I can't provide a link. But I'm sure you can google it and select info only for the Ravens. Good luck.
