Well I heard someing thing about nnamdi and gaither an I'm praying that that is true.. But anything could happen
Nnamdi here would be epic but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

The Raiders drafting Bruce Campbell and Asomugha's huge contract are reasons not to get omptimistic.

Well the mindset for Oakland could always be that Campbell isn't starting potential yet an that Ozzie could restructure nnamdi's contract..

Plus the Raiders drafted Jared Veldheer who also is an OT in the 3rd round. I think we can eliminate the Raiders since they drafted 2 Tackles back to back. It would be cool to have Aso but I'll be fine without him. I'd much rather keep Gaither around and try to get him under contract long term with the money front loaded where we won't be in trouble when we get the cap back. Most teams who needed a LT filled that need in the draft, I think Gaither will be ours for this season.

True.

We'll see. A trade for a player like Carlos Rogers is more realistic but if the team can somehow land Asomugha, I'll greet him at the airport.

I'll be standing right next to you. And the other thing is is that you can never predict what Al davis is going to do. I personally don't think gaither is that great.. He's always injured.. I'd much rather have a healthy, shutdown, superstar cornerback that can put recievers on planet asomugha. Not some silly little island..

LOL! I'm getting pretty sick of that island too. Hopefully my man Andre Johnson, Megatron or Marshall set it on fire next season.

I could be wrong but I think the the Raiders have replaced Davis with a look-a-like. Their draft was too solid and the trade for Campbell too sensible for Al to still be in charge.

Why does everyone want to get rid of gaither?

You act like left tackles are so easy to come by. He is the youngest player in the NFL prior to this draft with the most experience if im not mistaken.

With Gaither, Oher, Grubbs, and Chester/Yanda...the Ravens have one of the youngest, and talented lines in the NFL. And I'm not even mentioning Birk, the elder general.

Flacco needs to time to throw to Boldin, Mase, and company. These new TE's are receiving threats, not blockers who chip at DE and LB. Rizzle and 23 need maulers up front to open lanes (RICE ran for 83 yards @ NE behind Gaither!)

Trading Gaither even for a shutdown would be a mistake.

Plus, I believe shutdown corners are less play and more talk anyway. It becomes so respected that they don't even have much thrown at them because of all the talk surrounding their ability. Look at Revis in the playoffs, he got attacked and had plenty of P.I. and even got beat a few times...yet, everyone runs scared at the idea of throwing towards him.

Any big trades involving us? I don't think so. I do have a feeling that teams will be cutting players within the next week so if any trades would be happening it'll be for a big time need position.

Big trade for the Ravens is highly unlikely.
But throughout the NFL, a Marshawn Lynch trade is definite.

EDIT: and for all you Nnamdi hopefuls, Steeler fans think they are getting him too with a Roethlisberger switch.

It's simple, because the first thought that pops into most peoples heads is Nnamdi in a Ravens uniform on our defense, which would be terrifying.

I don't think Gaither is going anywhere. At least not until next season.

Asoumgha was available before the draft. I don't know if hes still available, but I'm guessing the Raiders are asking too much in return since hes still a Raider. His contract also scares out most teams.

Asoumgha is the best CB in the NFL IMO. If he was on this team, he'd take us to the 2006 level. With a defense on the level of 2006, and one of the better offenses in the NFL, we easily would be the superbowl favorites. CB is the only hole in this team right now.

Its up to Bisciotti to decide on whether Asoumgha is worth the hefty price.

All in all, its just a dream scenario that has very little chance of happening.

The Raiders just drafted two offensive tackles, one of which is pretty equal to gaither as far as athleticism and "talent", but raw in skills.

The Raiders are not the best dept. in the league, but they would not give up their best corner for an offensive tackle who has no where near the track record of NA.

Simply put, this deal will never happen, except in Madden, which is seemingly how people base their trade logic.

I hate to be critical of fans of my own team, but come on now, think about it. Gaither is worth nothing to the Raiders in comparison to NA, and troy smith does not sweeten the deal either, he is a 5th round pick with 2-3 games experience.

JUSS ANSWER THIS Y R U GUYS THINKING SO NEGITIVELY TOWARDS THE TRADE WOULDNT YOU NNUMANDI ASOUMGHA ON THE RAVENS JUST THINK POSSITIVE AND WE MIGHT JUST GET HIM. OZZIE WILL KEEP THE FANS HAPPY AND THE PRE-SEASON IS FAR FROM US RIGHT NOW SO WE MIGHT GET HIM JUST THINK POSSITIVE BECAUSE WE COULD USE HIM ON OUR TEAM FOR SOME CB HELP.

I am all about positive thinking! I think Aso is one hell of a CB but I don't think it would be in our best interest to get him. I believe we have quite a few FAs to resign after this year.

Haha every team could use this dude, he is the definition of shutdown corner, so we agree there!

Fact is he is very expensive and we have a lot of resignings to do, I am also a huge fan of "game is won in the trenches" saying so I would love to keep Gaither. Even that may be hard since him and Oher will probably want LT money.

Of course not! Expect the unexpected, just don't count on it. If we got this guy I am sure most people would be ecstatic.

I didn't mean to say that you were actually yelling. I'm just refering to the posting guidelines on this forum.

Aso is the perfect fit in our D, but come on, we would make a hole at the LT position. Move Oher over to that spot, and we create another one at RT. The O-Line is crucial to any team, as you could have the Pats 07 type of offense and still lose a big game, as evidenced by them losing to the Giants in the Super Bowl. If they had our line, they would have easily won the Giants 34-17.
