Mock Draft Review - Raven's Pick

175 posts in this topic

Thanks for the welcome. I like the idea of corner but in the 2nd round and we can gey cromartie rogers or brandon flowers there which are 2 great college corners that have the entangibles. I say go for kieth rivers or one of the OT's

Getting a OT in the 1st wouldn't be so bad either. That was our biggest downfall on offense last year, I say so. Just imagine if Jake Long was available our time on the clock. If we do go Offense as 1st round pick, OT is the way to go.

That way we can work on our O.line to get the best out of our QBs. Then work on whos going to be the biggest weapons for our QB, once we have the o.line settled. O.line -> QB -> WR.

Well OT is the way to go in my mind, but i like our wr and te. i also think we have good running backs o line is in my mind is number 1 then cb and finnally d line we need depth there. Then the posibilities of a wr late.

Trust me I like our WR core also. Of course I like HHHEEEEEEAAAAPPPPP, and Wilcox. I don't even think that we need a WR in the draft, just work with the ones we have now. Once Williams is fully healthy, I think he would be the biggest threat next season. Heck I would even try to use Figurs as a WR screen threat, just because of his speed.

Yea with the big play potential in williams and clayton and the sure hands of mason and the way darling is finnally coming around we don't need nything on offense except o lineman. but we need to address our corners and d lineman aswell. and i would like to see 1 more inside linebacker i love ray ray but he is getting older so i would likehim to take a young ilb under his wing to eventually take his spot when he retires.

Joe Thomas was taken with the 3rd overall pick by the Browns, I do remember reading that the Ravens were working on moving up to draft Brady Quinn as he fell, but the Browns traded with the Cowboys for the pick instead.

Yeah, they were but then the Browns traded back up to get him and the 49ers traded up right in front of us to get Joe Staley, who is the LT we would have taken.

im telling u you were gonna take gholston first then cason second

Gholston could be gone by the time are pick comes up but there is also a chance he might not be gone. Cason would probably be there for us to pick.

cason will be there in the 2nd or late 1st which if its that big of an issue ozzie could always find someone to swap the 38th overall pick with but cason isnt the cb to take, this guy is:

Somehow maybe we get it all, gholston, DRC, OT, moss and a ring

DRC would be a nice addition to the team. I'm really starting to like him more than some of the other CBs out there.

Me too, this video showed me the many facets he could help us in. Plus his Senior Bowl stats, Combine stats, and relatives only help

We don't need another OT, we're already stacked at that position. Quarterback is not really an option, in my opinion, because we already have 2 talented QBs in Smith and Boller. Brohm is not a safe pick. I'm sticking with CB McKelvin or OLB Gholston.

We're not really stacked if Jonathon Ogden retires. Jared Gaither needs about 1 more year to develop and Adam Terry is Adam FREAKING Terry.

I really don't trust Boller that much anymore. He shows flashes of a good QB and then shows flashes of a horrible QB. I'm just tired of him being inconstant most of the time.

I honestly still have a lot of faith in Boller. I mean everyone wants us to use our second round pick on Joe Flacco and he is the spitting image of Kyle Boller.

We won't know that until Flacco plays in the NFL.

I agree. I have given up on Boller. Its time to move on. He's been around 5 years now. How many more times will he prove that he's not the guy before we just let him go? I think had this team not given up two first round picks for him, they would not have been so committed to him. Its time to cut our losses and move on. The longer we hold onto hope of Boller becoming the franchise guy the smaller the window to win a championship will get for some of our vets.

Hmmm... the big arm? What's the biggest hit against Flacco? Questionable accuracy on short to mid-range throws. Uhh ummm.

what Qb in the nfl doesnt have an ARM? Boller has some of the best qb skillz arm wise in the league but his decisions are the main issue. He seems like a 6-year rookie trying to hurdle over a 10 foot wall. Boller in his own right has game otherwise he wouldnt be in the nfl but he is no Plamer, Manning, Brady, McNabb type of franchise QB that we're looking for.

a 6 yr vet, kyler boller is a spitting image of a small time college qb who hasnt even played an NFl game yet, Joe flacoo.

Can you believe we traded UP for Terry in the 2nd round. If he isn't getting beat on the speed rush he gets run over on the bull rush. It might be because of his permanently sprained ankle that he tries to compensate for by false starting. Gaither isn't any better. Maybe Coach Matsko can do something with these guys before they get to free agency or send them packing.

Troy's our guy, he makes good decisions is a great athlete and he's very young.

You can tell all that from 2 starts? I must be an absolute idiot.

Everyone gets attached to the big name.

1st everyone praised McNair but a season of injuries makes him a bum and people hop off his wagon for smith who is a good qb but im not totally sold that he is the future. I want him to be!! jus dont know if he's the best option available anymore

next will be whoever has the best name or is mentioned most on ESPN...this trend will continue bcause fans have been yearning for a qb for so long that they are willing to throw all of their apples into one basket, call it a day, all for the sake of attaching the ravens future to the mosted popular guy availlable.

im not buying it yet.

I understand R till D. I kinda feel the same way. I'm not ready to annoint anyone as`the franchise. Like you I would also welcome any kind of a change @ QB even if it just creates some competition and integrity in the offense.
