Here are some mock draft predections for the Ravens from around the internet. I think too many of them have undervalued Troy Smoth. Ryan Clady is a good thought

the - newnfldraft.com pick of the WR Desean Jackson was kind of interesting they said he is kinda similar to Tedd Ginn Jr. who Troy Smith played with at Ohio State. Personally I don't think we should pick a WR first pick though, but I just thought it was interesting trying to hook troy up with a WR similar to his college days.

Personally I think all of these are wrong. I was just curious to see what they had to say.

yeah so do I, everyone seems to want to get us a quarterback, but i think most the ravens fan were impressed by troys performace so do not agree.

as why these sites are merely Guessing at what each team are looking at, and what each teams needs are....as they dont and wont know anything for dead certainy until the pick has been made and the certain player has been drafted....then its all a matter of Certainy from that point on

a weak receiving group huh? Their numbers (minus Mason) weren't the greatest this year but niether were any of our quarterbacks. I disagree with a QB pick at the 8th spot. We need to address depth in the secondary and the OL. Take a chance in the later rounds with a QB and WR.

but this past season wasnt our best year (injury wise) for our team both offensively as well as defensively...so im sure that if we can keep our guys relatively healthy next season....then you could start seeing those big numbers being put up

But we really have to be looking towards the future as well. I mean, Ray Lewis, Steve McNair, Trevor Pryce, Samari Rolle, Chris McAlister, and Jonathan Ogden are all nearing the ends of their careers, and we have to be looking for possible replacements (with the exception of mcnair). We can't just look short term. not saying that youre wrong, but im just saying that sooner or later, its gonna be time to draft some fitting replacements. the quarterback situation is not about age really but about whos the better quarterback (troy smith duh), but positions like cornerback, middle linebacker, and DT, we have limited depth. If burgess really does mature into a ray lewis-type player, we should keep him. Behind chris and samari for cornerback, we have nobody. period. Behind trevor pryce, we have dwan edwards, and im not impressed with him at all. he's only a good backup.

I don't think we need to use the 1st round pick on a QB, Boller showed some growth this season and with a new HC maybe he'll get better, plus there is Troy Smith waiting too with the performence he had near the end of the season. I would say our first pick should be on a real shutdown CB who can take one of the stating jobs and let us have Rolle on the slot reciever where his experience can really help cover the inside of the field, but losing him to injury won't be the end of the world like it was this season, maybe later in the draft we should look to pick up another good CB, comeone who can fulfill the role that Pittman was hoped to do.

Outside of a CB I would think that a eventual replacement for Pryce would be good to if a good one fell to us, I think that Trvor can bouce back and still give us a few more good years of playing.

FYI I saw one mock draft having us pick up Colt Brennan in the 2nd round, I thought it would be good to bring in a Colt to the colts old home and I think that Brennan could be a good QB if Boller and Smith don't pan out and he won't cost as much in the 2nd round.

I dont see us drafting a QB , our team is almost ready to make a run for playoffs, and maybe more i hope. but i dont see hiring a serious new head coach and saying here is your rookie QB we already have that with the heisman winner troy smith.

Agreed. We could mostly go with a cornerback, but other than that, there's no other position that we really need other than cornerback as of now.

I forgot to add that we will probally be trading some of our draft picks for more veteran players.

*$%&!!! &^%$!! I wouldn't want that to happen!! making our team older, trading for more veterans, its a waste of money considering our eye for talent in ozzie. And its all short term. steve mcnair is a good example of what a veteran would give to you. success, but costly success, and short term at that. I'm totally against it. but hey, what can i do, im just a fan <_<:P lol

that is why they are college experts and not NFL experts! they know who's good in college, see that the ravens were decimated by a starting QB injury and inconsistency then say " Oh yeah....the ravens have to draft a QB, what will they do without mcnair? " when us as passionate fans who pay closer attention to detail than them, see the progression and promise of troy smith and realize that QB is not a top priority.

Malcolm Jenkins is staying at Ohio State, so lets forget about him.

QB is not a top priority

lol, what? McNair is near his end and Boller is terrible. We need an every down QB that Troy Smith can back up, but CB and LB may be addressed first.

i think Troy is more so "Starter" quality, we all saw how he played in the last 3 weeks of the season. and he really showed improvement, and what he's learned from the other quarterbacks.....and i would only expect him to get better and better as time goes on and as he learns from his previous experiences, besides IF we do in fact draft another Quarterback in this years draft.....i am more than certain that it will be that player, who would be backing up Troy, and not the other way around.....i mean if that were to happen and if that was to be the case, then we would only be moving backwards lol

The only thing mcnair is good for at this point is to maybe work with troy or there might be some value in him in a trade but i dont any one wants him.

I agree, but McNair doesn't have any trade value whatsoever. All the teams saw how much of an arm he has left. I do not even know if McNair is the mentoring type, he wants to play.

Yeah, But hey, a seventh round draft pick wouldnt hurt over mcnair :P i think some teams would be willing to do that.

ima b mad if we draft a Qb which is VERY unlikely because we have 3 qbs on this team right now and i doubt we'll release any of them. after all these injuries we had this year. I think if we do hire marty schottenheimer we might draft a Qb. We need to improve our defense our offense can hold up another year. And plus we didnt have our downfield threats all of last season. Demetrius Williams and Todd Heap

I think once they will be back, that will be a great addition to Troy and his options will definately open up.

I still think we should draft a QB but I want to see what happens with Troy Smith. So, I dont think we should take a QB as early as the first round. This draft has a lot of quality QB's, so I think we could pick up a solid second option in the second or fourth round.

yeah i totally agree with that I don't think we should spend our first pick on a QB. I wouldn't mind picking up a guy like colt brennan in the 2nd round if we could get him.

I think you got that backwards, we need to improve our offense our defense when healthy is still the best in the league and when not healthy they are ranked 6th. We need to find someway to improve the play of the offensive line. I think we have 3solid future starters in Grubbs, Yanda, and Brown but we need to get more athleticand younger at LT and C. I like what I saw from Troy Smith against Pittsburgh's starting defense, so I am not so gunho to draft another QB. Our running game is solid. But something has got to give with our recieving core. I honestly dont think taking a WR in the first round is a reach. Derrick Mason, who is 34 or 35, is the only reciever that can be consistant without Heap. Thats not good. Good recievers make their own opportunities and they find ways to get open and make plays regardless of who is injured. I like Williams, Clayton and Darling but besides Mason can we really say we have guys that can do that.

I do agree we need to fix up our offensive line, but I think we have a lot of raw talent that needs to just learn to work together and gel as a dround. I also believe have have talent in our rookie LT Gaither last yr who prob would have went first round if he wasn't forced to go to the draft a yr early bc of grades. Chris Chester also did a good job filling in at center when Flynn was down, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up a new center later in the draft.
