Is Our Cb Situation The Same We Had With Our Wrs?

our corners could not cover for long periods of times and double routes. if we improve the pass rush we can drive the routes like steeler corners! steelers don't worry about corners...they use the pass rush and the corners drive on routes for INTs.

I also think they didnt go after a top corner is that when Webb and Washington come back, they he would only produce so much becuase he would be overshadowed.

And he won the Super Bowl with a light secondary. It wasn't fun, and I'm definitely not gonna advise it, but he did it. I trust Harbaugh, a former secondary coach, to evaluate corners. In the post-draft presser he said he thought this was a shallow CB class and other than the really good guys (I assume he meant people like Wilson and McCourty) who went pretty early, the ravens didn't like many guys, and basically quit on the corners outright after Arenas was taken. This is what happens with the BPA strategy- we'll pick relatively sure things at positions we're better at instead of reaches and risks at need positions. Give Ozzie time with trades and UFA signings and be patient with Washington and Webb- like Harbaugh said, we'll be fine, especially with the beefed up pass rush.

I would have to disagree with the first part. Jabari Greer was a great acquisition for the Saints, and Tracy Porter turned it up at the end of the Season. The only reason they were ranked so low in Pass Defense was because both of their starting CBs missed at least a fourth of the Regular Season. Even then, they took Malcolm Jenkins in the 1st round and had Randall Gay as a decent back up.

Was Pitta rated higher than A-O-A ? I don't think so, and Cowboys didn't think so either. But instead we got another TE. If we wanted Pitta, why did we draft Dickson, or other way around? But there is a plan .... we bring Cory Ivy back.
Our offense will have to score 30 points every game to win.

There are legitimate concerns about him, just like with any other later round pick. Plenty of teams chose other corners over him, and we already got a small school corner with return ability that happened to pan out well. Ozzie goes best player available, and obviously they rated Pitta higher.

And why are you acting like the offseason is over now?

Didn't we hold opposing teams to 11 points a game after the bye week?

We had a chance to get Wilson in the 1st round.

Would've been nice to have a corner. But people always say GMs know best - but I seriously doubt they make the RIGHT decisions ALL the time.

So it definitely holds merit for some people to doubt the reasoning behind not drafting a corner.

And as the current super bowl champion head coach sean payton said, "Secondary is NOT something you want to be light in"

I didn't say the team was panicking, They didn't last season at WR(see where that got us) I'm just telling you the situation is bad back there right now. That's a fact.

Lol the day the Ravens start taking defensive advice from the Saints...The Saints won because of O not because there secondary was awesome. We have far from the worst situation in the NFL at CB. Man stop panicking people our coaches know more than we do let them work and see what happens. How the fans are in panic mode in April is ridiculous.

What we ended up getting instead of Wilson was awesome. We got some great value on those picks. Its just draft time noone knows who will pan out at all. They may not make the right decision all the time (obviously they don't) but they still know more about our team then the fans do. Let them do there job and then complain if we suck during the year not in April.

Aaahhh, what teams - Browns & Raiders? How about this one - the Minnesota game, Frank Walker piggy-back riding Sidney Rice for 172 yards, that was "impressive". I don't wanna see that again, do you?

People are posting without reading others' posts and jump to the conclusion that Ravens' secondary is screwed because there aren't good CB, and as if regular season starts tomorrow. One of good points stated by Franchise and some others (sorry that if I missed your post) is that our newly drafted pass rushers will upgrade our OT tremendously which will pressure the opponent QB and make him throw quick pass. Therefore, you don't really need great CB to cover when other QB doesn't have time to throw deep ball or sometimes even short ball.
Howver, noone from Ravens FO or Ozzie said that we don't need to sign any CB. We did addressing we need few good backup CB until Webb and Washington recovered. Offseason is not even over yet, and people are getting freaked out about our CB situation. In the end, everyone loves and wants our Ravens to be the best, so don't get too worried that we are short of CB situation. Ozzie will get it done soon.

We played good enough to make playoffs and then did well in the playoffs. So I consider it a success. Say anything you want but we had no O thats why we lost to the Colts. If you tell me we will let Peyton score 20 points I will take that any game. Only time our D didn't look to good was at the two minute warning of the first half.

You guys are complaining too much about stuff we know nothing about. The FO is more knowledgeable about this stuff then we are.

Walkers isn't very good during the season we all know that. I will take him in the post season though. He played very well.

Not going to worry our secondary look good currently. We got good players nothing extra special except Ed Reed but it will only get better. Although I am sure even with that said some one will find a reason to complain. Look our deffense is solid plus we will not need to rely on D as much as we had in the past. Ravens offense is going to kill it this year.

Some of you guys kill me....seems like you want a Pro Bowler at every single position on the field.

Reality check time. The closest thing to a weakness we have on this team is our #2 CB. Foxworth, whether you love him or not, was dominant the entire second half of the year, once he got settled in. You're talking about a guy who completely shut down guys like Randy Moss and Brandon Marshall. So hate on him all you want, he is well on his way to stardom.
Carr is about as worthless as they come, I'll give you that. But that is only very temporary. Webb MIGHT even be ready for week 1, at worst, a couple weeks into the year. When he returns, we will have two very impressive corners, being further enhanced by what all indications point to, a much improved pass rush.
With Webb and Foxworth holding it down, what other holes do we have? I suspect the gloom n doomers will have very little to gripe about, as we ascend to our rightful position atop of the NFL defensive rankings.
This is the MOST COMPLETE team in the entire league, bar none.

Dont cry, dry your eye...here comes Oz with those two little guys!

(Fox and Webb -- extra credit if ya caught the Snoop reference)
