I promised myself I'd return to the forums after the draft, and here I am.

Being a Ravens' fan it is easy to see we made all the right moves this off-season and I can't wait for the preseason to get underway to see how our four new aerial weapons (Boldin, Pitta, Art & Dickson) fit into our schemes.

Like most, I want to see if the CB issue gets addressed in the upcoming weeks.

Furthermore, I am dually impressed with all the Prime Time spots we've acquired for this year. Our boys in purple finally getting the national recognition they deserve.

So, here is to looking forward to another great season of Ravens' football.

PS: It's great to be back as well.

This is the simplest question and even though team skill is different than player skill they are very realted so lets have some player analysis

-Joe Flacco>Palmer
Joe has more potential, is more consistant, and is less prone to injury.

-Rice and Mcgahee> Benson and co
Don't even need to say why

-Q, Mase, and co> Ochocinco, Bryant, and co
This is debateable is Bryant has a breakout season but right now its obvious

-Heap and the rooks>Gresham

-Ravens O-line>>>>>>>>Bengal's O-line

-Raven's D-line>>>>Bengal's D-line

-Raven's LB's>>>>>Bengal's

-Our Cb's<<<Bengal's CB's
Oh look you got one. Well Fab is coming off the IR and so will Webb eventually but they will probably need time to get adjusted. Assuming the Bengals dont crash this season its obvious you have better CB's

-Reed+Laundry>Bengals safeties

So in conclusion, we will probably have the edge and smoke you at hom and maybe give you the game away, maybe.

The forums tend to get a little too slow for my taste during the off-season; like dropping a pebble into a well and waiting to hear anything back.

I follow the headlines via BR.com, Facebook & Twitter though.

You guys played really well last year and caught everyone by surprise. No doubt your team is good but we are definitely more talented. Whether or not we liv eup to that talent remains to be seen. I wish we had your CBs though :).

We could argue the Flacco verse Palmer thing all night because I am sure we both think our QB is better. As of right now our TE's are better easily. Not hard to say that because Gresham hasn't taken one snap in the NFL and Heap is well you know Heap. I also think the TE's we drafted will end up being better than Gresham( I still think hes talented though).

Ray Rice is the second best RB in the league so...hes better than Benson and the rest of our crew is about even with yours. WR is a hard category to judge even though personally I think Boldin is the best WR in the division now (yes I know about ocho).

All in all of course your going to say the Bengals are better and I am going to say Ravens in most aspects. Trying to do it without bias and I still wouldnt change my opinion as I feel we are just that much better than you all. In this division the more talented teams don't always win the games (just look at last year for example). Well every division is that way but most of the times our games are so close that one play can change the outcome. Steelers almost got us last year with a backup QB, just one example off the top of my head.

To be fair, the Bengals also Chase Coffman as one of their TEs. I'd still take Heap, Dickson and Pitta over Gresham and Coffman though.

The Ravens have the Bengals beat talent-wise at most positions and arguably did last year too but in both games, Cincy just looked they wanted it more. I hope its different next season.

It will be I really think we split the series because I just cant see anyone going undefeated against the division this year.

They played harder for the games then we did. On that you read my mind was about to edit my last post with that comment haha

I agree about no one sweeping the division again. We know about the top three teams and the Browns have quietly gotten better. I'd like to believe Delhomme will continue to chuck picks but if he can recapture his 2008 regular season form, look out.

Yeah, we shall see come September. You like the Ravens chances, I like the Bengals chances. I'm just happy they are contenders and have something to look forward to. I'm sure the Ravens will be favored to win the AFC NORTH but you gotta take it away from us first!!! :lolpoof:

When you compare Bengals team to Ravens, I have say this:
We have better players at every position, except the Cornerback. And it could hurt, so I hope FO will address the situation soon.
I do like our chances against the Bengals, but some "Pass happy" teams like Colts, Saints & Patriots could hurt us with their passing attack.

1.Ravens 12-5
2.Bengals 11-5
3.Steelers 10-6
4.Browns 5-11

Ravens have inproved since last year with the addition of Bolden on Offense.

Should have beaten Bengals in game one last year, Ray got flagged on that OCHO CINCO hit. T-SIZZLE rebounds for an outstanding season.

Ravens make playoffs third year in a row and will host at least 1 game at The Nest.

To say we are better in every position except CB, is kind of stretching it. Palmer has proven to be an elite QB when given the weapons. Flacco might show that this year, but until then, Palmer is the better QB IMO.

Rice, and Benson both looked like elite RB's last year, and both teams weren't too far off in terms of defensive rankings.

Also, I think our WR situation is very similar. One elite WR, and a very good #2, along with talented young TE or TE's in our case.

I agree. Both defenses were really strong last year as Baltimore's usually is. Nobody expected the Bengals to have a top 5-10 defense. Heck, I didn't see it coming either but Zimmer is a good defensive coordinator. I really do think people criticize Palmer too much, he's just had unfortunate things happen. I agree with your statement about Carson being good with the weapons, lets face it the Bengals offense was horrid last year and it wasn't Carson. Yes, he was off and times but he had no faith in any of the WR's to be where they're suppose to be except Chad and of course teams double teamed him because he was the only WR that could get separation. When people consider Palmer a bust I believe they are completely wrong. Yes, he hasn't won any playoff games and has been injured frequently but he also hasn't had the complete team around him like the Ravens have provided Joe Flacco - Good offensive line, decent WR's (Better now of course) and a great defense. I remember when Flacco would pass it for 90 yards and still win the game with solid defense and a good running game. I also believe people underestimate what Cedric Benson did for us, he was what moved the ball for us 90% of the time. I don't mind Joe Flacco nor do I have anything against him but I just don't see what's so "great" about him thus far. Maybe he'll be really good this year, we'll see. I personally believe the Bengals and Ravens are pretty equal on both sides of the ball.

Some pundits I've read said the Bengals could regress a bit with the schedule they've been given.

We've got a good chance although the first four stretch will be tough.

I am a big AFC North fan, I like the Ravens, Bengals, and Browns(I hate the Steelers like most people on this forum though) but since I am a fan of the Bengals and the Ravens, I think my opinion isn't biased. I love Flacco, but he hasn't really done enough YET to make him better than Palmer who is a former pro bowler. Flacco still gets jittery and flustered when we're in the redzone, think back to the Green Bay and Indy games last season. The Ravens backs are clearly better because of depth and Ray but someone on here said that McGahee was better than Benson and that's ridiculous, Benson is a workhorse. I believe the Ravens WR's are slightly better simply because Bryant isn't a sure deal and is injury prone. Ravens O-Line are obviously better and I don't need to explain that. I think the ravens D-Line is now better simply because of the insane depth they now have. Though the Bengals have a great D-Line as well and more and better DT's. I actually like Rey and Keith better than Suggs and JJ, but Ray is the man and Ravens have crazy depth, bengals don't. Jonothan Joseph and Leon Hall are both close to being shutdown corners IMO, and the Ravens don't even have one, L-Webb isn't at their level yet and Dom shows up only once in a while, and Fab gets bullied too much IMO. The Bengals safeties are underrated IMO but Crocker, Ndukwe, Roy, Nelson, and Ratliff don't come anywhere close to Reed, Landry, Zibby, and Nakamura. And both kickers aren't very good so they don't matter enough to compare.

Thats a good breakdown. I don;t agree with everything but you never said what the season series is going this year :). You didn't say what you thought about the TE's either. Since you are a fan of both: what did you think about both teams drafts? I am biased so what I think(and some other people on here obviously) may be different than what you think!

Most recent year it has been true. Although it seems your FO is getting it together nicely.

You have to admit that besides last year most would be right in doubting the Bengals. They havent really been "contenders" for a bit. I don't doubt them at all right now they are a good team and will be hard to beat. Games will be good for sure.

I really liked your alls draft to even though some "experts" are rating it a C.

Mel Kiper is an idiot for all I'm concerned. The Bengals did what they needed to do which was get the offense going and add depth to the offensive line/defense. It just depends where you look, some give the Bengals a C, some give them a B, some an A-, it just depends. I don't think the "experts" know what they're talking about half the time. Most of the Bengals problem is Mike Brown.

Yea I don't put much into the "experts" opinions I would give you guys a B+ or so but what do I know haha. I am not going to call Kiper an idiot because he picked Ravens for one of the best drafts :). I do think you guys are getting better as an organization.

Best thing to do is just take the punches(people talking down about your organization), let them underestimate your team and then let your team just handle it on the field. These guys on ESPN have so many different opinions I basically stopped listening to what they said about my team. You guys are definitely getting better as a team/organization and teams that don't respect you all wil be in for quite a shock. I am sure we respect what you are capable of :).
