45 posts in this topic

yea there is also Marcus Trufant in and Drayton Florence in FA. I think I would rather get a new young guy from the from the draft then any of the FA's though

man i can not beleive nobody has mentioned Aqib Talib from kansas, this guy is a true shut down corner. he has speed, instincts, size everything you want out of a CB. he had 8 ints in two seasons, including 6 this season and remember the one in the orange bowl that went for a TD!!!

He was on they guy's original list.

but yeah, from what I've seen of him, he's been pretty good.

my opinion:

due to my work schedule, i don't get to actually watch too many saturday college games, but from the newspapers, highlights and scouts i would say either cason, or flowers, and regardless of the negativity, both jenkins' are worth the pick with the talent they have.

does anyone know what juniors already said they were gonna go in the draft?

Juniors are likely not gonna get looked at seriously until the deadline for the paperwork has passed.

Even if the paperwork is submitted, juniors can still withdraw their draft eligibility. Sometimes, juniors will publicly declare just to get a feel for the type of draft buzz they may receive, and will base their decision to stay or leave on that.

However, once the deadline passes, that's when the buzz around juniors gets heavier, since the scouts will know FOR SURE that the prospect is eligible, and therefore, a realistic possibility on their draft boards.

I'll note, however, that it's been rare for a high-profile draft pick to withdraw their draft eligibility once they announce their intent publicly. The last major draft pick to do so was USC QB Matt Leinart, who likely would've been the top overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. However, he decided to rescind his public intent and stayed for his senior season, which hurt his draft stock after the BCS National Title loss to Vince Young's Texas Longhorns.

word.....plus they have alor of potential and alot of talent that can be used for us, but in retro-spect Ozzie and his staff have their options laid out and a plan already set out.....and im dead certain he will make teh best possible decision for us in the end....he rarely ever makes a bad choice :)

ESPN reports that Malcolm Jenkins will return to Ohio state...so there goes that. Its narrowed to Mike Jenkins or Antoine Cason. Maybe aquib talib if we decide to go elsewhere in the 1st round.

baah, its okay. Mike is still talented, and we can draft malcom next year...but i did hear somewhere that malcom has some attitude probs at times...any truth to that??? Nevertheles, if we draft mike this year, and malcom next year, we could have the "jenkins bros" play corners..man, that would be memorable! (and yes, i know no relation :P )

I'd go with Mike, but I've been seeing the Ravens picking a QB in mock drafts all over.

they won't and definitely should NOT pick a QB first round!!!

i think now, from a fan's stand point on this issue, about who we should draft in the upcoming NFL draft....will be dealt with with the ut most care and the ut most inside look's at the different players will be taken in order to ensure that we will make hte best possible decision for this team.

I know there are a lot of problems and questions surrounding the quarterback position but honestly, we really need a corner. Both C-Mac and Samari Rolle are over 30 and I think Rolle is a FA at the end of the year. Resigning him would be wise but he is already on the decline. The same goes for C-Mac who I think peaked in 2006. There are a lot of guys the Ravens could get in the draft. I personally would like to see two corners drafted but the coaches will probably only draft one. So the question is, who should the coaches choose? Here's a list of the top guys coming out:

Malcolm Jenkins

Mike Jenkins

Antoine Cason

Aqib Talib

Brandon Flowers(his teammate Victor Harris might forgoe his senior year)

Leodis McKelvin

Trae Williams

Initially, my favorite was Mike Jenkins but now that Brandon Flowers is entering the draft, I think he might be a second round steal. What do you guys think?

If you need a QB and a DB you take the QB because its the most important position on the field. The Brownies have sorry DB's to but they were 10-6 because they have a QB that could overcome that.

As well as when Suggs dropped to us a few seasons ago. The Ravens practically ran the Suggs pick up to to podium.

That was because they were trying to beat Minnasota up there, who had just went over the time limit because of us.
