Ed Reed destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise.

just goes to show you....that the saying "one mans trash...is another mans's Treasure" comes to mind

*Wince* Brought to mind Derek Anderson when you said that.

But he carries the ball like that on Punt Returns as well. There have been some laterals in his career, which were inches from being major mistakes. And I agree he is a game changer. But imagine after he made that interception against the patriots, he was able to go down with the ball.

Nevertheless, one of "The" best players in the NFL. And he gives us the opportunity to change the tide at any moment.

but keep in the back of your mind that he's creeping towards 30....

i dont think (as i have said before in other posts) that age plays that big of a factor in how a player performs, i mean because, IF that one player or Player's continue to work hard, practice hard, and give it everything they possibly can give to try to help their team out overall.....and still have the same fire, same desire, same drive from within themselves.....along with the never fading will to win and Determination to get the job done and done well...plays not only a role in the equation...but it plays a HUGE role in the process

Well Ed Reed is recognized by everyone, and they don't have an excuse about him being a killer or anything.

Thats true. It seems like everytime our players have a great year people dont want to give them props because "the ravens have a locker room full of thugs and murderers"( said by some Browns fan). Ironically, they only player that was ever convicted of anything while playing for the Ravens, is now a Brown. Gotta love it.

it's always nice seeing Gregg and Ngata get some kind of recognition seeing how much they do for our team and linebackers

yeah.....sometimes the best players on your team aren't the ones with gaudy stats. even their teammates will tell you that they are the " linchpins " on the team. the ones who's play inspires others around them.

oh....and ed reed is the ravens brian dawkins. he'll be around a very long time and like rayray, probably play in baltimore til' the day he chooses to retire. but until then, let's just enjoy the fact that we are lucky enough to witness him play for our team!

Reed is by far my favorite Raven.

I just wish when he does get his hands on the ball, He holds onto the ball tight. It is scary watching him palm the ball, waving it around like the "golden ticket". Or worse yet, when he starts laterelling it, when there is no need.

No doubt , hall of famer

He makes me so angry, when he tries to keep going when he is surrounded by the players of the other team. Of Ed's 7 picks only maybe 3 of them actually went back to our offense. The other 4 went back to the team he picked off. We would already be in field goal range and he gets greedy and tries to make the impossible happen, gets smacked and the ball comes flying out. I think we need a rule for Ed and our other DB's, when you dont have blockers and your surrounded by players from the other team, get on the ground and protect the ball. The younger DB's, namely, Pittman are starting to be just as reckless with the ball as Ed is. But I do love Ed Reed.

I don't know if this is true but I remeber someone telling me somewhere ed reed said something along the lines as to not being as careful carrying the ball when he gets the ball on defense cause the offensive guys don't practice tackling like the defense guys.

Thats exactly what he said.

He was in field goal range. If our O didnt pick up another yard, which would have been doubtful because they were hot at that point, we put 3 more points on the board and as we know every point you can get counts against the Patrefs. That fumble was the difference between a win and a loss.

yea thats true but you can say that about a lot of things in a game though. I mean it was unfortunate but there was also a lot of game left at that point.

The interception was bad but that play call by our former offensive genious of a coach was even worse. He should have ran the ball and picked up the 3.

True, it also cost us the Bill's game

And the Bengal's game and the Browns game and even the playoff game against the Colts but lets not go down memory

lane, its to painful. That was a dark time in Ravens history, that we all would like to forget.

LOL, I dont really remember that time.... But I have a limited edition football with the whole team's signatures

LOL. We have it on video. My dad just knew they were going all the way that year, so he recorded every game. And they actually went all the way. Maybe we should do that again next year.
