Ed Reed = All-pro

56 posts in this topic

Len Pasquarelli has named Ed Reed to his All-Pro team on espn.com.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor...&id=3180907

But wait, there's more:

Haloti Ngata and Kelly Gregg were named in USA Today's All-Joe Team for players who don't rack up the stats, but are impressive players.

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nf...-joe-team_N.htm

Thanks to the Baltimore Sun website for providing the links. I knew that newspaper was good for something besides toilet paper.

I like how Len's list gives props to my fellow Terp alumn EJ Henderson but in the same breath he ignored Ray Ray! what the heckZORS??!?!

That being said, I like Len cuz he's probably the best NFL analyst ESPN has.

Well Ed Reed is recognized by everyone, and they don't have an excuse about him being a killer or anything.

it's always nice seeing Gregg and Ngata get some kind of recognition seeing how much they do for our team and linebackers

Kelly Gregg. Another great example of Ozzie's eye. Brilliant!

And to think that Kelly Gregg was cut from the Bengals before we picked him up.

What?!?!?!!? Ok, why are there so many Patriots?!?!?!? Only Tom and Randy deserve to go. Everyone else is soooo overrated. When we get all of our starters back next year, we'll run up the score, and see how everyone else likes it.

lol randy has only been able to call himself a "patriot" for 1 year...which means 1 season.....most of his career was with the Vikings..so no statue of him as a patriot just yet....i think people may be a little too excited/anxious if it came to that point in time....for real...

lol he's the NFL 4th All-Time Leading Scorer with 1,800 something points and he has no plans on retiring anytime soon at this point.....not sure on what we'll do with him

haha....time will tell, and im sure at some point he'll be a Hall of Famer....maybe not right away but i mean come on, how could the NFL's 4th ALL TIME leading scorer not make it to the Hall of Fame???? lol seems only right to do such a thing especially for a great player/ all round guy like stover

He really is a class act and hopefully his stats will continue to rise. I just hope that this season he's increasing his point after completion percentage rather than his field goal percentage. We need some TDs.

yea lol but either way you look at it...he's increasing his total points and his overall perecentage..whether it be extra points or Field goals...either way its still a matter or increasing his point standard.

I would love to get EJ in the draft - he is a great player an extremely intelligent (completed his 4 year degree in 3 years)

at our current place in the draft right now...we're bound to get a Top 10 Draft Choice..and MAYBE even a top 5 Draft choice, seeing IF one does drop back in the draft order than was to be originally prospected.

He'll without a doubt make the Hall at some point, but back to Reed. I love the man and he showed his true colors by playing through the last game even with the rest of his counterparts sitting on the pine. He's a class act and a Raven till the end.

in a way....he is Ray you know? cuz he's a leader, a play maker, player who loves this team....the whole deal that Ray has..power, determination, will to win, andthe inner drive to succeed, coupled with the leader ship abilities from within him....he's exactly like Ray...(not literally cuz they are two different people/players) but from a Football and competitive aspect of the deal....Reed is

Reed is by far my favorite Raven.

I just wish when he does get his hands on the ball, He holds onto the ball tight. It is scary watching him palm the ball, waving it around like the "golden ticket". Or worse yet, when he starts laterelling it, when there is no need.

No doubt , hall of famer

I don't know if this is true but I remeber someone telling me somewhere ed reed said something along the lines as to not being as careful carrying the ball when he gets the ball on defense cause the offensive guys don't practice tackling like the defense guys.

Hehe... you mean they're not the same person?

You know.. I'll sum Reed up just like this:

Whenever we're behind in a game. I always say, "Watch Reed come up with a huge interception this next series." And ya know what happens? A huge pick by Reed. He almost always comes through in clutch situations. He's a game changer.

He's so clutch, he doesn't even know how clutch he is.

But he carries the ball like that on Punt Returns as well. There have been some laterals in his career, which were inches from being major mistakes. And I agree he is a game changer. But imagine after he made that interception against the patriots, he was able to go down with the ball.

Nevertheless, one of "The" best players in the NFL. And he gives us the opportunity to change the tide at any moment.
