If We Dont Sign Rex...

29 posts in this topic

I dont Know about you guys, but as far as I'm concerned, this is the worse place Ryan could possibly go.

Cincy have an explosive offensive, and if they bring in rex on D, it could propel them back into the fight for the AFC north, and obviously, we would have to play them twice a year.

PS. I'm not just making this up, I read it on the Bmore Sun's page(which probably means they're making it up)

Rex is not going to be a Defensive Coordinatoor. There are two many HC jobs that he has a great chance of getting

but even still....even if we dont see Rex coming back to Baltimore in the future....with all new staff coming in here and building off of whats already been laid down from years past....ultimately brings about, a new/better sense of direction and "fresh" minds will enable the future of this team to think above and beyond whats to come...meaning...with Billick i think everyone was thinking "here we go again" kind if mindset and with a New staff coming in here...we really have no idea and therefore we are excited about whats to come and whats in store for us in the future

Well said. Either Rex or a fresh staff, will lead us into a better direction.

it really doesnt matter how you look at this situation as of right now..we can only move forward from this point forward and in doing so...building off of what we have done in the past, while learning some new(er) type things in the process that COULD ultimately change the out come of a game for us in our favor at some point in time.

Cause Marvin Lewis did wonders for their defense.

For that reason I don't think they will take Rex that would be like running Bj Sams at Cincy next year.

I couldn't have put it better myself.

true, plus with all the HC vacancies, this is a time where what we read in the papers doesn't have any solid support behind it. this could just be a beatwriter throwing in his 2 cents or just merely saying " this is what i would do "

yea.....last go around with this whole thing we got very lucky to even get him back for at least 1 more season...and now with his name out there as a top priority for teams head Coaching vacancy......he is most likely not to be passed up/passed over yet again

Not going to happen, unless Lewis is fired. Rex is getting a head coaching job. Besides Cincy doesnt have the players on defense to run Rex's defense. He even said it himself, he's not a great coach when his great players are on the sideline with injury. Rex puts his guys in position to make plays and for that he is a great coach but it takes alot of talent to be as dominate as our defense can be and we have a lot of it on defense. Notice how no matter who our D coordinator is we end up with a top 10 defense. Anyways, like I was saying its going to take the Bengals a few years to build up that talent and Rex wont be around that long. If he doesnt get a head coaching job this year he will get it next year.

Yeah, his crazy schemes and creative ideas are too much to be a coordinator's, hes going up them ranks pretty soon. I just hope hes going to help the ravens in the same sense.

REX WANTS TO STAY IN BALTIMORE. HE KNOWS WE ARE THE BEST.

I hope so. It's wierd how offensive specialists suceed in defense, and defensive specialists succeed in offense. I hope this goes both ways, in offense and defense, if we get Rex.

i dont think he said anything about WANTING to stay in Baltimore...i think he said something more along the lines of "if a Head Coaching Job Presents itself with a team...of course im going to take it...because its a step up from where i was before"

hey, the ravens staying top secret on the HC front sure is giving us fans on the forum a lot to ponder over huh?

my personal instinct makes me think that rex will be our next coach....but honestly, i don't know and neither does anyone else.

this is great!

They sure are, but you know what's even more funnier. We can jaw about it forever and come up with who we want as Head Coach , Quarterbacks, and draft picks. But to the front office of the team

Fans opinions DO NOT EQUATE to the best decisions

I just hate when the commentators say something like "that is why coaches coach, and fans do not. Fans have too much emotion". What does going for it on fourth an inches have to do with emotions?

We get critized when we leave the game before halftime because its raining and our team is down by 30 points.

I think sometimes fans see what owners and coaches dont because we dont know the people involved personally which allows us to be more objective. For the Ravens its the emotion from the coaches, players, and front office that hurt us. Its easy for fans to say we need to fire so and so and we need to trade and cut that player and sometimes thats what really needs to happen. But its difficult for those changes to be made because like I said the people that have to make those decision know the people involved and they have an emotional bond because they are human. So, you see its not just fans that are emotional.
