Where's The Best Place To Stay For Out Of State Raven's Fan?

9 posts in this topic

I have been a huge Ravens fan from Iowa since 2000. I rock the t-shirts, jerseys, tattoos, man cave, etc with pride. I have been to various Raven road games around the midwest in the past years, but havent made it to a Ravens home game yet. Now that the 2010 schedule finally released, the plans are in the works to make it to Baltimore for the Dec 19th game with the Saints. I would love all feedback on places to stay and things to do in Baltimore for the 3 or 4 days I will be there.

Thanks a million,

The Sheraton at the Harbor is nice. It over looks Camden Yards, which is right next to M&T bank stadium. You have to go to Mathews pizza on Eastern ave. It's a little pizza shop built into a rowhome. It's the oldest pizza pallor in America. I swear it's the best, you'll never have pizza like it anywhere else. Probably be winter, so the Harbor won't be as happening as it is around this time of year. Visit the Babe Ruth museum which is near the stadium. It's actually pretty cool because you get to go around the house he grew up in. I would tell you go eat crabs because that's all we do here, but it probably wont be in season. The Aquarium is also nice, it's very interesting place to visit.

Auqarium is nice BUT stupid expensive ( like $30+). Do you like the bar scene? if so, Fed Hill, Fells Point, Canton and Powerplant will make you feel right at home.

Federal Hills bars are crazy expensive.... :th_sneak-1:

There is a really good sports bar near Clifton Park.

Out-of-State visitors frequently ask the same questions. If you peruse the "Questions" forum, you'll find various discussions about lodging, restaurants, attractions, etc.

Here's a discussion specifically addressing downtown lodging near the Stadium:

http://boards.baltimoreravens.com/topic/10050-besteasiest-place-to-stay/

If you are keenly interested in the Fells Point bar and restaurant scene, check out the Admiral Fell Inn, which is in the heart of Fells Point.

If you are interested in food and a downtown location, check out the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel, which is next to Little Italy and Pier Six of the Inner Harbor complex

Suggestion: if you stay downtown, avoid a car rental. The $$ you save in parking fees and the traffic aggravation should offset the cost of cabs or public transportation.

King, The Hilton is a great place to stay. It overlooks Camden Yards. You can walk to M&T Bank Stadium, inner harbor, and all the sights. Good Luck

Make sure you eat blue crab or crab-cakes while you're here! Oh, and don't miss Baltimore Street. ;)
