Jamal Lewis

Jamal deserves to be in the Hall of Fame and he should be a Raven his last year like Jerry Rice and like #22 Emmitt Smith deserved to be instead of going to AZ. We owe a lot to the players from our past and I don't like how the league trades everyone, especiallly the ones who made teams into what they are now (Sean Alexander). It shows absolutely no class to trade people the year before they retire just to free some cap room. Peter Boulware as a Raven, So should Ogden, Dilfer, and the rest. Lets show a little class Baltimore and put them where they belong. One last trip in Baltimore before they hit Hall of fame Canton Ohio!

Both Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith signed one-day contracts with their original teams (San Francisco and Dallas, respectively) so they could retire with those organizations.

Most players who spend most of their careers with one team usually do so.

But, at the end of the day, it's usually up to the player to decide which team(s) they want to represent upon the induction of their bust.

Reggie White's family chose both Green Bay and Philadelphia, despite spending his final year in the league with Carolina. Joe Montana chose San Francisco, despite closing his career in Kansas City. Steve Young also chose San Francisco, despite beginning his career in Tampa Bay.

And when Steve McNair is inducted, he'll likely be inducted as a Tennessee Titan, regardless of his limited success in Baltimore (even if he were to win a Super Bowl with the Ravens).

Basically, I wouldn't worry so much about picking up former players just for the sake of their Hall-of-Fame induction. A one-day contract's good enough just for retirement purposes, no need to waste a roster spot like that.

Well besides the one great season. His career numbers are not that great. He doesn't hold any records now (I think) now that Peterson broke the single game.

His career is yet to be finished in cleveland , so depending on what he does there to finish , will determind both of those questions.

My guess is a slim possiblity, if he does go to HOF, it will take a couple of ballots.

can't put it any better!

exactly....everything has a beginning and must start somewhere at some point in time. it all boils down to whom the particular individual feels as the most approiate move to make and what team seems to suit them most at that particular point in time.

Yeah, i think he will be inducted into the HOF as a RAVEN. But a part of me also feels he may not make it into the hall of fame.. he had only a few GOOD years. To me a HALL Of FAMER is someone who is CONSISTENT every YEAR, Jamal lacks consistency..

which i think was partly due to Billicks decision making and lack of realization of the situation. we'll just have to wait and see how this year turns out for him and see on whether or not he can or will be able to Follow his performance from last season over into this year.

Lot of guys in front of him. He also admited to someone using his cell phone to make a drug deal. He also is a convicted felon. I don't think so.

i get what your saying...but just think about this for a second here...there has been only a handful of Players in the NFL over the years, that have ever...EVER gone over and broke the 2,000 yards rushing mark. so that alone is a Huge accomplishment to achieve and most certainly will be something that people will take into account. heck, lets fast forward a couple of years here...LT.....look at what he's done and how much of a big name, big time player he's become....and he's yet to break the 2,000 yard mark. and he's surely going into the Hall of Fame some day.

After the way Jamal trashed Baltimore in the press, he may not want to come back here and retire.

I dont think Jamal got along with Billick to well.

that has been eminent by recent comments in the press about this situation. but the stats and the facts remain as is.... Jamal had one of the greatest seasons in NFL history with Billick and the Ravens back in 2003. that is the fact that will remain imortalized in stone forever. even LT.....the 2 time NFL mvp...hasnt gone over the 2,000 yard mark....jamal did..so that says alot about the type of athlete he is/was at the time....thus i see no reason as to why he shouldnt go into the Hall.
