When Jamal had like 2,000 yards in a season, thats pretty Canton like, right? Do you think he'll be inducted? If so, as a Raven, or a Brown?

If he is inducted he will be a Raven. Here is where he began got records and had great seasons. Also, he was with us the longest. He will be inducted as a Raven.

Well besides the one great season. His career numbers are not that great. He doesn't hold any records now (I think) now that Peterson broke the single game.

His career is yet to be finished in cleveland , so depending on what he does there to finish , will determind both of those questions.

My guess is a slim possiblity, if he does go to HOF, it will take a couple of ballots.

I think he can get it in. He will have the numbers and he missed an entire season with injury, his second or third year. And he has a ring, which should give him and edge. He's not a first ballot guy but he will get in and it should be as a Raven because he enjoyed the most success here.

Kind of off topic, but when did Figurs get the punt return for TD?

It was early in the season. It was a home game against the Rams, Jets or Cards. I think it was the Jets.

Thought it was Arizona.

I remember an excessive celebration penalty because, gasp, *2* Ravens jumped into the stands.

Yeah, him and Darling. Might have been Arizona. It was either the Cards, Jets, or Rams.

Let me answer the question of this topic with a simple NO.

the reason being is that he hasnt played enough seasons, or been consistant enough.

yea he wont be in for just his 2000 yd season but he has his 295(something like that) yd game and he'll break 10,000 yds. If he plays well the rest of career he def. has a chance.

agreed, though jamal was and is still a solid back, i don't think his numbers are " H.O.F numbers ". there's still great players ahead of him that have yet to be enshrined

For him to have been in the league for 7 years, no they are not HOF. But as I mentioned before when you factor in that he missed the entire season his second or third season, they are better then most.

Well, his stock might have dropped. AP has that record now.

by one yard.

Might have hurt his chances.

me personally think that he's got a shot...i mean look back at football history...there's only been a handful of players to go over the 2,000 yard mark. Plus he won a Superbowl. so not only does he have the 2,000 yards to his credit, he also has, a superbowl ring, offensive player of the year award and was regarded as THE most feared Runnning backs in the entire league at one point....so i think he should get elected into the hall for sure....he may not be a First ballot type of guy..but i think he should be in there.

The point is he doesnt hold the record anymore. In the record books its going to Adrian Peterson holds the record for most rushing yards in one game. Not that he holds the record BUT Jamal Lewis only has one less yard.

but it will also go down that...the record stood for about 4 years with Jamal's name as the sole owner and founder of it. and so just because the record is broken, doesnt mean that history is re-written and what not lol. jamal's accomplishments in that season and during that entire year, were astounding and everyone took notice....thus meaning his accomplishments will not be forgotten just because another guy came along and broke the record by 1 yard. doesnt means a thing if you really think about it.

as long as he keeps pace he will probably get in. that could be a very long time however because unfortunately for Jamal he is in an era of the hybrid HB's, and statistically he is outshined by guys like Marshall Faulk, Ladanian Tomlinson, Edjerrin James, Curtis Martin.

That's the key: keeping pace.

He has a shot, but he still needs to improve upon last season, despite posting up decent stats.

"Decent" does not equal Hall of Fame, unless it's done over a long stretch of time.

And given how injury-prone he's been as of late, as well as his particularly physical style of running, he'll need to pray that he can stay healthy for years to come in order to even put up numbers, period.

yep, can't agree with you more. I mean if he had a year like he did last year, all his seasons, or maybe he has that kind of year for the upcoming five seasons, using 4.5 yards per rush or something around that range, then he could possibly have a chance. but he's seriously been beat from all that bruising style of running and the "McNair effect" might get to him soon.

Jamal deserves to be in the Hall of Fame and he should be a Raven his last year like Jerry Rice and like #22 Emmitt Smith deserved to be instead of going to AZ. We owe a lot to the players from our past and I don't like how the league trades everyone, especiallly the ones who made teams into what they are now (Sean Alexander). It shows absolutely no class to trade people the year before they retire just to free some cap room. Peter Boulware as a Raven, So should Ogden, Dilfer, and the rest. Lets show a little class Baltimore and put them where they belong. One last trip in Baltimore before they hit Hall of fame Canton Ohio!

I am all for that and with Ogden and Ray Lewis and maybe even Reed I wouldnt want it any other way but there is money involved in what you are talking about. I would love for Jamal to come back and retire as a Raven, I even bring him back to backup McGahee after Cleveland cuts him on Madden so he can retire a Raven but Jamal still thinks he's worth top dollar and his career is likely to end long before he believes he's done. So, there is a possibilitie that it would cost to much for him to play his last season in Baltimore. Maybe we could do one of those one day contracts or something. I think we all have to remember that this is a bussiness and players move on. Not every player we love will retire with us. I think we are going to get Ogden but realistically we will be lucky if some of these others guys including Ray remain Ravens their entire career. Thats just how it works out sometimes.

After the way Jamal trashed Baltimore in the press, he may not want to come back here and retire.
