OK, so Ginn has fallen far, fast in Miami. With the addition of Marshall, he will either be traded or cut, and this could be our 5th round trade steal.

First of all, Cameron drafted him and we all know Cam loves to make a home for his failures(read: Beck).

Secondly, for relatively cheap Ginn would give us another possible deep threat if he can get his hands together and a great kick returner. Can't deny the kid's speed or his natural returning ability, he's just had poor hands in the past and never should've been slotted as the #1 guy.

What d'ya think?

I wouldn't trade for him but if the Ravens can sign him off waivers, he'd be a great return-game upgrade.

Who knows? Ozzie may make trade for him on draft day.

Yea I'd much rather see us get him off waivers, I was discussing the Marshall trade with a friend who's a dolphin fan and the idea of Ginn intrigued me. I could see him here.

From what I hear the Dolphins want a 4th for him. We do not have a 4th. We do need young talent at WR, but is Ginn really the answer?

What we need is someone with more upside.

My best friend is a die hard Phins fan, so I have seen enough of this guy to know he just isn't developing very well. He has had chance after chance to prove himself and always seems to come up short. His build isn't that of a NFL WR if you ask me, but thats what most said of Steve Smith so.... He could definately help stretch the field and his speed speaks for itself. I'd like him on the team for his return ability, but since we are already are short on picks I dont see us pursuing him unless he gets cut

i wouldnt mind seeing him here. his return ability and his potential at wideout would be enough for me. he should have never been a 1st rd pick. they really reached for him. ginn is still young and has raw talent, he can be taught and with the calibur of coaches we have coming into baltimore, he could develop into something

That was pretty funny...

The worst was the drop with Cromartie behind him. I love how Cromartie motioned the incompletion gesture like he made the play.

Most of those drops were pretty inexcusable though.

I don't think this necessarily pushes him off the depth chart down there. He is still an okay no. 3 or 4 imo. Not to mention, he is dangerous on kick returns. Not sure the fins would want to get rid of him.

Um, they run the wildcat and they have Marshall >> Hartline >> Bess >> Camarillo. Why continue to pay Ginn?

All I'm saying is if we could get him cheap/off waivers, would you consider it a positive move for the team?

I agree if we can get him for a cheap price his special team speed would help us out a lot. I think Ozzie would get him if he's still avaiable during the 5th round.

Trading for him would truly be a waste in my opinion. He's an electric returner but would offer little to nothing as a WR on this team.

He wouldn't add much this year but neither would a rookie prospect we'd potentially grab in the late rounds. With Ginn we could, again this is all hypothetical, groom him and focus on catching for a year and then bring him out once Mason and others are gone. If he steps up he steps up, if not, we cut him. If we don't have to give up much I don't see the downside.

He is a terrible wide receiver and I mean it, terrible.
If he is signed as our return man, that's another story.
He can provide from little to nothing in the offensive game and finally this emoticon makes sense with the way he drops passes... :th_cancers:

I'd pick Kelley over Ginn any day.

Ted Ginn makes Heyward-Bey's hands look phenomenal.

I'd take him as a free agent for his returning ability. However, at no point would I consider playing him on offense, he's just straight up horrible as a receiver.

How much upside is there really? Ginn has been in the league 4 seasons so it's highly unlikely he drastically improves as a player.

Again, if the team is signing him off waivers, fine but trading for him when that pick could used to draft a TE, WR, DL or back-up OT(depending on what the team does in the first two rounds) just doesn't make sense in my opinion.

Other than special teams, he'd be a waste. If we pick up another WR I think we need to look for height to be able to have some better match-ups for our offense.

Unless there is a great prospect in the 5th that the Ravens are in love with I would make a trade for Ginn. If Ginn would be the BPA in that position why wouldn't we make a move for him. Just think about when Ozzie pulled the trigger on Fabian for a 4th, I see this being a similar type move. I'm not saying he can be the future, but he is a not a head case and being around Mason and Boldin could only help him. He has never really had any veteran wrs to learn from such as Boldin, Mason, and Stallworth. I'm not saying they can wave a magic wand and save him, but they could have a positive impact on him. I think he could benefit from a change of scenery. He would be able to stretch the field and he is still young with time to improve. If he only costs a 5th I don't see the negative in taking him because the 5th round pick we take could easily not pan out as well. Comparing Ginn and Washington does not make sense because we have wrs with reliable hands with Mason and Boldin. We really need our other receivers to stretch the field and develop in the future. Ginn could compete with Stallworth for the three spot and Ginn would be a solid 4th option. For those who would rather see K.Washington here Ginn is a totally different player, he would mainly be brought in as a returner and developmental guy. I think his value in the return game alone makes him worth a 5th round pick. I would be happy to see the move made.

Why is it this board is trying to get the next cast off receiver from every team?
Ted Gin is a disaster, no thank you mam!
We are set at receiver, I would rather draft a rookie (next year), than get Ted Gin.
sheesh enough already....

But what about the return game? If I were the fins, I'd keep him and just have him return kicks/punts. And no, I wouldn't consider it positive for us. We have some depth at WR already, not tom mention other needs to fill.

Gotta love the offseason....

No to Ginn. Would rather take a late round flyer on a rookie who actually might have some upside, rather than waste it on a one trick pony. Ginn is good but isn't that good on ST that I would forgo a roster spot for a guy who can do more than return kicks.
