Well I'm damn glad I won't be worrying about Boldin's:
1. Toughness
2. Effort
3. Team First Attitude
4. Desire
5. Skills
6. Commitment

I could care less about Brandon Marshall. Didn't exactly light it up vs us last year either.
Nobody said you had to care. He had KYLE ORTON throwing to him against an aggressive Ravens defense. Who DOES "light it up" against the Ravens defense? Even in their "depression" last year... really, it's only the marquee QBs who do it. Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Philip Rivers.

You expect Marshall to "light it up" against the Ravens when the Ravens defense doesn't have to worry about a running game, any other receivers, and a QB as horrible as Orton? Oh, and they have the home field advantage which is one of the best in the league. You funny.

With our issues at CB, I'm a tad nervous about him this year. Not much, but a tad.
I'll give you that, we do have issues in the secondary. Henne appears to be the real deal and could certainly thrive with Marshall.

Why is this guy still a talking point? The contract Miami handed him alone is a major reason why the Ravens didn't go after him.

He's a Dolphin now. What else needs to be said?

Ummm... no, not really. He's not the highest paid player in the NFL at all. It's not even close. And it's debatable whether or not he's the highest paid receiver depending on which money you actually count and how it's divided up.

And I don't think anyone can argue he's not one of the top 3 receivers in the league OR that Boldin is better than him. Even if their numbers were comparable, Marshall is much younger than Boldin. So, ummm... great job TRYING to convince the naive that he's horrible and it's a blessing from above that the Ravens didn't get him... but no cigar!
Brandon Marshall signed the richest contract in NFL history for a WR in terms of annual "salary" at nearly $12 million per year.

It was a good move for the Dolphins but they're making a huge commitment to Marshall.
Yes and it should pay off for them too.

Looks like the Dolphins might be a force to be reckoned with next season.

They were last season they just need a big NT.

Bess gets a face to face with Marshall, the word from Parcells, and some $ and a trip to Aruba and he gives up #15
Parcells always gets the job done.

Assuming he doesn't get into trouble again.

Regarding the #15.... the number doesn't make the player, the player makes the number. It doesn't matter what number Marshall gets, he'll get his 100+ receptions, 7-10 TDs, and 1,000+ receiving yards.

P.S. Who is Davone Bess? I mean, seriously man...

Who is this guy and agent to say what number Marshall can or can't wear? Didn't someone here wear 81 but changed his number with Boldin coming over, no complaining there if someone did wear 81, and yet this kid who is a virtual no name receiver unless your a Dolphins fan is telling a Pro Bowl WR who obviously will make him a better receiver he can't wear 15, what an idiot. Coaches and the Front Office makes up who wears what numbers right.... well Bill Parcells should call him to a meeting and say that he is no longer wearing 15, and go as far as showing him Marshall's Miami jersey with the 15 on it and if he wants to cry about a number than we'll find a place for you through trade or cut you. Actually thinking about it, I could see Parcells doing that and don't tell him and his agent I forced him to give it up in Madden.... what you going to do about that Bess???
A "no-name" or not, I wouldn't want to give my number up either. Of course I was kinda superstitious and thought my number was my lucky number. If players don't have a problem giving up there number then its no big deal (as was the case here with Boldin). Kinda crazy to do all the bending over for a WR that hasn't played a snap for your team yet.
I am glad we have Boldin and didn't get Marshall, he is one mistake from a long suspension and the atmosphere in Miami is a little more "party crazy" than Denver. In other words I am pretty sure he is making that mistake sometime (not saying this year).

I don't think he is top 3...top 5 for sure because he's talented as anyone, but I actually factor in character. Apparently you don't as much as your riding on the Marshall Train right now, so I doubt we will see eye to eye on that at all. We don't need bad character players on this team even if they are as talented as Marshall is. I am a Marshall fan and hope he can get his act together but a lot of these young dudes keep up there problems so we will see about that.

I don't think the guy you quoted said he was horrible at all. He actually said he was talented I believe.

How is it a great signing for the Dolphins that's all I hear. As Ravens fans you should know by now what's good and what isn't. What character, desire, effort, attitude doesn't matter anymore, just numbers? His salary is shocking to me. You pay for the whole package, and it's clear MIA was just looking at the stats. If they were going to dish out that kind of scratch for a WR they should have tried to get Smith, Fitz or Johnson, shoot 12M this guy was nearly thrown off the team and he's handed this?

Here's an update on the Marshall and the number 15 mess.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/05/05/brandon-marshall-still-has-no-number/
According to the Dolphins' online roster, Marshall's number is still listed as "0".
Regarding your "Who Is Davone Bess?" That was exactly my point when I said who is he to tell a Pro Bowl receiver that he can't wear a number. Bill Parcells will most likely solve this.

I'm happy Bess isn't selling the number. Marshall is an elite talent but Bess has paid his dues in Miami and should have to give up his number for anyone.

Ironically the Denver #15 jersey that Marshal once wore is the highest selling jersey in April, although the name on the back now reads Tebow....

Brandon Marshall has a Number!!!

Marshall will wear...... 19!

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/05/19/fins-will-see-a-new-19-this-year/
Marshall will wear No. 19, Ted Ginn's old number.

The former Bronco prefers No. 15, but Davone Bess won't give it up. And since Bess isn't likely to be cut or traded, it's unlikely that Marshall will be inheriting No. 15.
