People didn't always appreciate him when he was playing but we all realized how good he was when he wasn't.

Thanks for everything Samari.

Thanks, Samari! An excellent cover-corner in his prime and an even better man but his epilepsy took his career down.

As I'm sure you can determine from my username, he's my favorite player in the NFL and I'm really gonna miss him on the team, especially because I wanted to see him win a ring.

Sure no surprise but still sad news.

Thanks for everything, Samari. I enjoyed watching you play.

I knew it was coming. Samari Rolle, thanks for the memories, we enjoyed watching you play. I wish you all the best. I would like to see Samari in the Ring of Honor, he deserves to be there, IMO

Good luck Samari. My guess is he'll retire. If C Mac didn't attract a lot of attention on the market last season, I doubt Samari will.

But still, good luck.

Very sad news, but much like the C-Ac situation, guess this is no surprise.

I hope that Samari sees this thread one day, so that he knows how respected and loved he is here.

Good luck, and thank you.

I wish samari the best of luck , I know epilepsy is a tricky beast to tackle and it never stays down. I hope he takes the time to make some space for family and friends and focus on more important things then football

You're wrong.

When he was healthy, Samari "played like a Raven" about as much as anyone on the team.

:( :( I am sad to see him go, but it is no surprise to me, he will be better off somewhere where he can shine.

His career is likely over.

I'm sorry to see Samari go and I hope he finds success in his next venture because unfortunately I think he will have to hang up his cleats.

He's not even close to deserving to be in the Raven's Ring of Honor. I don't think he was all that impressive here. He had his moments and games, but for the most part, I always thought he was a liability in the secondary. He was good in 06 though.

Thanks Samari! I really hate to see you go, but life after football is more important! Oh yeah, I will still never have a problem wearing my black #22 jersey with your name on it, anywhere, anytime! Class act all around, best wishes on what comes next for you and yours!! :baltimore-ravens:

With Roll gone, the Ravens need to take a corner first. Ladarius Webb can't do it all. Boise State's CB Kyle Wilson. He has average speed for an NFL corner. But he does show excellent potential in the covering Wideouts. Alson he could help Webb in the return game. With Santonio Holmes and possibly Ben Roethlisberger being gone and Mcnabb getting traded to Washington, this could be an excellent year to train players on the defensive side of the ball.

I love you Birds fans, and I respect everyone here. But WOW a few of our flock really don't know much about football. "Samari didn't play like a Raven"???? Dumbest thing I've ever heard. He did everything that was asked of him and played with heart always. Jenisondb21, what exactly does Mcnabb going to Washington have to do with us "training" players on Defense? I do agree with you on the point of addressing a corner, but taking one first is not mandatory. It's not the ability of our current corners that scare me, it has more to do with the injuries they sustained last year. I hope Webb can come back and pick up where he left off. It would be nice to get a real shutdown guy in here, but every team is looking for those. Like I said, I really didn't mean any disrespect by my comments here, just had to chime in.
