Jersey Swap

To see Boldin in his 81 jersey is going to be very exciting. I dont know if Smith offered it up to him or not but if he did then "hats off" to him for showing that kind of respect to Boldin. As for Redding wearing Edwards old number that will take very little time to get used to as long as he produces. I expect him to fill in nicely and perhaps even outshine the numbers produced by Edwards. That actually shouldnt be to hard. Last but not least I guess Chris Hannon wearing 15 is the indication that Washington wont be back!

I dont think marcus smith had any say in Boldin getting his number. Likewise, you think Colt brennan had any say in McNabb getting 5??

Actually Colt Brennan prefers the #15 (he wore that in Hawaii), he gave up the #5 in a heartbeat. He couldn't originally get the number 15 because Todd Collins had it. But now that Todd has been released, Colt can go back to his number.

So that wasn't a force. I think Colt put in the request to get 15 even before Donovan was traded.

either way, there's not gonna be an issue with an established veteran taking a number from a 3rd string/practice teamer.

I guess Smith giving it up wasn't too much of an hassle, I mean he can wear 13, some other number in the 80's. It wouldn't have looked right anyhow if Boldin was wearing anything but 81. I can't wait to buy a Boldin jersey.

Lastly, who the hell is Chris Hannon?

I really don't think Smith cared too much. He didn't even wear 81 in college. He wore 4. And he said he thought the number 11 looked sharp. He obviously has not love affair with jersey numbers.

Good question. On NFL.com he's listed as a Baltimore Ravens receiver. But he isn't on our roster page.

He's probably practice squad fodder, he was on three different teams rosters in 2008 and wasn't on any team in 2009.

He's officially an enigma.

I honestly thought "Jersey Swap" had something to do with the Meadowlands stadium. :34853_doh:

Or maybe something to do with VD...

Boldin's jersey with his #81 was probably sitting there waiting for him when he arrived in Bmore.

Got some more information. Chris Hannon was signed by the Ravens to a future contract on 1/22/10. The contract was a future contract because Hannon did not play for any team in 2009, he was rehabbing a Hamstring Injury.

Chris Hannon
6'3", 205 lbs
Age 26
Undrafted free agent in 2006.

Don't really know the purpose of this signing. Our Practice squad and active roster is stuffed with developing talent anyways.

Hanon was probably signed for the WR and DB drills during camp. If he impresses, he might make the practice squad. If not, he'll be cut.

actually Quan said in an interview that Smith was real cool about it and called him as soon as the deal went down.
still, I don't think he wouldve had a choice if he wouldnt have wanted to swap :P

I thought you had duplicates of a jersey and were looking to trade one. :D

I just ordered my Boldin jersey from nflshop.com. Hopefully it gets here before the draft so I can wear it that weekend.
