Who will have the more productive season? I welcome all predictions on catches, TDs, yards, avg, 1st downs, 3rd down catches or whatever other stat you can think of.

Stallworth no question about it, he is a better player and he will get more playing time.

Depending on whether receiver(s) are drafted i don't even think Clayton or Demetrius Williams will be on the team very long.

Clayton will outproduce Stallworth. You heard it here first.

Bash me if you want, I've always been a Clayton basher myself. I think he'll find his niche in the slot and prove why he was drafted as a deep threat. He can thank Boldin.

Stallworth hands down...

I just cant wait for the "Stallworthless" catcalls after his first poor game, and the ensuing "Start Clayton" threads.

I wouldnt be surprised if Clayton had more production this season just because he knows the system better and Stallworth was out of football all last year.

I'm not ready to appoint Stallworth as the chosen one quite yet. He last played real meaningful games back in the 2008 season with the Patriots. Where he had the luxury of being in a pass-happy offense w/ Brady, Moss and Welker.

And like you said, he's new to the offense while Clayton has been working with Flacco since the beginning.

All I know is that the Ravens have no excuse one-so-ever to not roll out some 4 WR sets from time to time. No excuse. The offensive line can hold up on their own. Let's really take this baby for a spin.

Clayton. I think what is actually going to happen with stallworth has been overfantasized. I think he may be a tiny bit more productive than Dwill was last year only bc he'll actually be active for all 16 games, most likely. My prediction
Boldin - 106
Mason - 78
Heap - 42
Clayton - 32
Stallworth - 18

That`s a really good point, we should n`t have any problem rolling out a 4 wide set with Rice as the checkdown.

Talk about big play ability with Boldin, Mason, Stallworth, Clayton and Rice all out there at once.

I think Mason could surprise us with more catches than Boldin. Flacco and Mason have really gotten a good repertoire with each other over the last two years. Boldin should put up more yards, but Mason will get his fair amount of looks.

big play is usually somewhat limited when you have no one but the line to block with 4wrs and 1rb going out on a pass route. ;) yeah, you've got receivers running all over the field, but the Qb has no time to find them open when he's got guys in his face in <2seconds.

Now if we had Cousins @ RT, we might have to rethink those 4 WR sets. :standcorner:

I get your logic, but I think they're gonna put more emphasis on Boldin. Especially if he's gonna be the "slot jesus" that everyone says he is, then he will have a ridiculous amount of catches.

What's great about 4 WR sets is that you can really isolate receivers allowing quick deep fly routes. That's where I can see Clayton busting deep.

i think stallworth will get alot chances down feild and could get big numbers if he if takes advantage of the opertunity cuz he will c alot of single coverage because of boldin and heap so its real possible 4 him to have a huge year.

I understand we'll put more emphasis on Boldin, but so will the defenses. The top guys will be covering Boldin while Mason gets the second tier. While all of last year Mason was the focus.

Flacoo is still developing, and can read off Boldin quickly, leaving Mason to beat his man in a quick route. And Boldin still has to stay on the field as well too, he's missed 9 games in the last three years.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how the passing game plays out this year.

Clayton.

If he's our 4th WR he'll be able to get past bad corners.
On the other side of the fence, we don't play many 4 WR sets.

I am pretty much open to this competition between the two. Like when it was Flacco vs Smith vs Boller, I am willing to accept who ever wins the competition for the starting spot(The better man, who ever wins the spot deserves it). However if Clayton wins, He better do a lot better than what he has done in the past few years. I am excited for Stallworth though, Especially after hearing his press conference and other interviews. It just seems fitting for Stallworth to shine, minus the fact that he hasn't played recently and is getting up there in age. It's his second chance and it does not seem like he is going to take it for granted.

Clayton... Stallworth hasn't played in over a year. Now Clayton can be used what he supposed to be used for - Streaking down the side line while everyone covers Mason and Boldin.

I agree completely. My first thought when we signed Boldin was "can you imagine Mason against the #2 CB for once"!! WOW

Boldin may put up more yards, but I still think Mason will get more grabs. Either way, what a thing to be debating eh?! :D

BTW - On topic, I think Stallworth will see more time and will make more of an impact than Clayton! Stallworth will show more hunger this year than Clayton has in his whole career. IMO ;)

Stallworth. Tom Brady was out for a year, and he was still, well, Tom Brady. I know you can't compare the two, but at least one had a significant injury and still played up to speed, while Donte' was still training and still didn't take any time off. Deep balls all day to Stallworth. He's going to be our deep threat that we've wanted for so long. Oh and I hate to say it (not really), but Clayton is just horrible. He doesn't need to be on this team anymore. I'm tired of inconsistency, and that's exactly what he brings. He's had his chance, and you just don't draft a WR in the first round for him to work the slot. We'll see a lot of Stallworth working the outside while Mason can catch a breather.

Well first lets start with Stallworth, he knows he made a mistake, players only get so many chances in the NFL and I don't think he will let this one slip away. He will come back hungry. Clayton on the other hand will get lousy corners covering him from the slot or 4th spot, and he was able to beat SOME of the number 2 corners, and like PuRock was pointing out Clayton was with Flacco from the beginnning. Its a tough decision, but Clayton is too unconsistent and anyway Stallworth will get more playing time, so Stallworth it is for me.

I am sure Clayton feels a little threatened about Stallworth, so Clayton might try to put the pedal to the metal and make some catches. On the other hand we are definitely going to give Stallworth a chance to shine. There is no telling what is going to happen. We will all just have to wait and see.

I'd like to believe that, but if CLayton scrubs it up in his contract year, then there's not much reason to think competition will do much good either. We've already seen Clayton's best.
