Ray Lewis' Greatest Speeches

9 posts in this topic

Okay, Ray Lewis is awesome obviously. One of the greatest defensive players in the history of the game and a future first ballot hall of famer. But thats not all of what makes Ray Lewis Ray Lewis. Not even close. The thing I love about Ray the most and will always remember him for most is his ability to deliver the greatest speeches when people need to hear them most. He has made some of the best speeches I have ever heard in my life. My two favorites ever are right here.

His pregame speech in honor of Sean Taylor before the infamous 2007 Patriots game.

His speech at McNairs funeral

Both of these are in honor of two fallen "family" members and they truly capture how great Ray Lewis is in his speech....If you have time, please watch the McNair one. Its so powerful and moving its unbelievable.

Please discuss your thoughts on Ray Lewis the awesome motivator and give examples of your favorite Ray Ray speeches.

Religion aside (because we're not allowed to talk religion here, remember!), Ray Lewis' passion alone could convert even the most ardent athiest. I mean, wow. Ray's eulogy at McNair's funeral is the definition of celebrating a life. I've never heard a more uplifting eulogy before.

Great topic. His speech at McNair's funeral was both amazing and heart-wrenching. You could tell the deep friendship they had and the genuine emotion he felt.

Also, it's not so much of a speech, but it's one of my favorites. This interview Ray did during the 2008 season with his old buddy Warren Sapp, it was incredible. Especially the part where he talks about OJ Brigance, towards the end of the clip. Right Here

The topic of Brigance is always sensitive, and Ray brought it home for me.

"Every freakin' day I see OJ Brigance, man, I sit there and say 'wow'. You can smile and still go through that... and they're talking about a game... There's nothing I won't give up, there's no play I'll take a break on if a man can fight for life and I can go out and fight for a game."

Good choice I remember watching this on NFLN. He gives the best interviews cuz when Ray Lewis speaks everybody wants to listen. He puts so much passion into everything he does its remarkable.

This isn't exactly a speech but "Get off the field! I told you I'm com'in! Get off the field! Get off the field!" Another good one: "You can't hurt this! I'm a machine, jerk!" I also love whenever he says, "We're walking through life together, man!" Remember what he said after that Patriot game, "Well, first thing you think is, there no flag?" Bottom line, when deciding whether or not I like NFL players, how good you are at playing the game doesn't come into thought. It's what Ray Lewis excels at more than anything else on the field. :ravensquote:
