Yea I tried it too. I've played several of the earlier games on PC, they were all really good. It's definitely not a run-and-gun type of game.

it kind of reminds me of Assassin's Creed a little bit on the gameplay..... just alot more present time

sort of the same (unless you count attempting to play the very first one @ my friends house) I was never a fan of the whole "if you get seen, automatic mission failure"

Played it, it was pretty good. But I feel in some ways its leaving its roots. In my opinion, nothing beats Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory for PC.

idk, I hated the whole if you're spotted you fail concept (idk if that was chaos theory) Idk I've played the demo 3 or 4 times and it seems like it is worth the buy... not to mention there will be some sort of Co-op

I guess the demo is available for download for free? I always liked Splinter Cell....although, all of my saved pennies are going towards the new garage. :ICONATOR_01040da29c18a4eed76047

As much as I love Metal Gear Solid, I've always loved Splinter Cell just a tiny bit more. Maybe it's because I was shocked and amazed at how damn amazing the lightning (and basically graphics in general) were on the original Xbox when the first SC came out. Or the more realistic storyline, and gruff Fisher. I passed up Double Agent, but Conviction does seem to be pulling me back to Sam Fisher. I'll definitely check the game out next week, not sure if I'll get the demo though.

Downloaded the demo (took forever). I'll try to play it over the weekend. Thanks for the heads up.

Man, I miss the traditional stealth gameplay of Splinter Cell, it's what I loved about the series. There was something fantastic about sneaking into a building, creeping along halfways, through vents, staying hidden, and performing your various acts of espionage. Conviction is good... but it doesn't feel like Splinter Cell to me (aside from Sam and Grim). It's fun for an action game, but it's a let down to me since it's under the Splinter Cell name :\

I've only played the demo. I guess you can't complete a mission undetected?

You can pretty much rambo it, aside from a few spots where you need to go undetected. Granted, it's much harder (however your pistol has infinite ammo, secondary weapons and gadgets do not though) to go in guns blazing though.

you can.... in fact I almost did.... if it weren't for the fact that I wanted to earn more points to upgrade my weapons (i.e. doing in game challenges)

long story short..... I had a headshot lined up... pulled the trigger.... and guy moved as trigger was pulled... therefore being shot in the shoulder instead of the head..... which caused him to look all across the certain pipe I was frantically trying to get off of

However I do have to agree... playing Co-op over XBL sucks when you have someone who tries to go all rambo.....

because it was my fault that he got shot w/in a group of like 6 enemies and I took my sweet *** time to go over and heal him...

I never played the other splinter cell games... so I can't make the comparison.... however I think it's more like a splinter cell/assassin's creed hybrid with the way the game play is.... Stealth makes life easy... but its not the end of the world if you are caught... you can't move bodies however..... and the "targets" have an annoying knack for trying to trash talk sam fisher.... even though they don't know he's in the room yet

Man, I have to say. This game is just amazing. This is the best game of 2010 so far for me, next to BC2. I am VERY happy with it. Co op, and the single player is outstanding. I had my doubts, but not anymore!
