Predictions

I've been looking at some threads and I thought about what our record would be. I'm thinking somewhere around 12-4. What are your thoughts.

Were only going 12-4 if we can manage to get ahead early instead of playing from behind during games. Someone needs to tell the team it is ok to have games like when we played the Pats in January and that all 3 sides of the ball can play well instead of 1 per game.(Defense, ST, Offense)

Also let them know it's cool not embarrass ourselves during primetime on national tv. -.-

I think we can squeeze out 10 wins, barring injury of course. As long as we make the playoffs I could care less what our record is. Would be sweet to grab a home playoff game though :).

I am going to be a little more conservative than my 14-2 prediction from last year haha.

We`ll finish 11-5.

Home: Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, [s]New Orleans Saints[/s], Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Away: [s]Cincinnati Bengals[/s], Cleveland Browns, [s]Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots[/s], New York Jets, Houston Texans, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers

I crossed out the games that I think we'll lose and vs Pitt, @ Atlanta, and @ Ny are my wildcards.

Were going 8-0 at home this year. I honestly cant see us losing. The only team im on the fence with is the Saints. However, if were lucky Drew Brees will be slapped with the madden curse and that should help us.

Away, I can see us losing only to the Steelers. I really dont see a team that really can bring it. The Jets game should be good with Boldin on Revis island and Mason covered by Antonio Cromartie. The Falcons have a somewhat formidible offense but it can be stopped. The only other team i think we will have problems with are the Texans. Matt Schaub is a monster when hes healthy and the Schaub to Johnson matchup is scary. The Patriots are in extreme decline, in my opinion.

I can really see us blowing out the Browns, Bills and Bucs at home and the Browns, Panthers and Falcons away. However we will have to wait and see how Carolina will progress with their new QB. I am really getting this vibe though that this season is make or break for the Bengals.. In my own opinion, I think they are going to regress, however they could leap forward via the draft. Ask me again in 24 days.

If we can get lucky and Ben gets suspended for a couple of games, lets hope the away Steelers game is earlier in the season.. I dont care if it seems like a fair intradivisional win. You guys will forget about all fairness/and the game come early January.

I want to say 15-1 but i really feel like thats unrealistic so im going to go with a prediction of 14-2 or 13-3. I just dont see who the one or two other teams we will lose to are.

purpleandblackblood i agree with you 99 percent. the 1 percent differnce is the saints. they won the superbowl but i still think they are overrated. i dont think we will blow them out but i do think we will win soundly. the addition of stallworth and boldin is going to be big for us. not only do the saints have to worry about our defense they have to worry about those 2 guys as well. there defense is not good.

yes. I agree with you. I don't think we will blow the saints out by any means. Our recievers are good and can definitely advance on their subpar, aging DBs..

I'm going to be the devil's advocate.

Our team record is going to mediocre because our playing style and lack of discipline will draw penalties, which will cost some games.

9-7 Wild Card again!

Using darklight1216's schedule
Home: [s]Cincinnati Bengals[/s], Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, [s]Miami Dolphins[/s], Denver Broncos, [s]New Orleans Saints[/s], Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Away: Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, [s]Pittsburgh Steelers[/s], [s]New England Patriots[/s],[s] New York Jets[/s], [s]Houston Texans[/s], Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers

I'm still skeptic from last season, we lost a lot of close games that we could have avoided if we didn't keep shooting ourselves in the foot.

Critical turnovers, penalty flags, dropped balls, missed kicks, etc...

We are a mediocre team until we get our acts straight and play with discipline.

If Mark Sanchez improves drastically we're going to have a tough time with the Jets. Saints...we all know the deal. Bengals, don't forget they swept us last year and also added a compliment to Ochocinco. If they add someone like Gresham we might have some problems with them. They could very well beat us. Same with Steelers any year. Patriots, we can beat but don't count them out completely. And Texans have one of the best QBs in the league along with the best WR in the league...

I'm not a trash talker but we have some tough competition this year.

Finally somebody that isn't overly optimistic. Plus isn't it better to give a reasonable prediction than let's say 13-3. Because when the team doesn't perform up to the 13-3 you find yourself overly disappointed and frustrated with the team. These are the same people that come on the forum and start spewing out doom and gloom after a couple of losses. We aren't the Colts, we can't really be predicting a 3 loss season until we can prove it.

Whereas if you say a 10-6 season, the team can often surprise you.

My final prediction is that we end the season with a winning record. We still need to prove we can win close games.

I have us going 11-5, although I think it depends.

Home: Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, [s]New Orleans Saints[/s], Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Away: [s]Cincinnati Bengals[/s], Cleveland Browns, [s]Pittsburgh Steelers[/s], [s]New England Patriots[/s], New York Jets, [s]Houston Texans[/s], Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers

I have steelers red because for me it depends on if Big Ben is suspended or not. if he is suspended, then we will win that game, if he isnt then its a 60/40 chance we will win/lose. So maybe 12-6 depending on if Big Ben is playing or not.

First thing's first,

Division games-
I think we sweep the Steelers and Browns, and split with the Bengals.

Outside of that, I think we are going to put a hurting on New England again. We can beat Atlanta,Carolina,Tampa,Buffalo,Miami, and Denver outright.

The toughest games outside of the Division will be
NYJ-I have every confidence that we can beat that team
Houston-Offense is good, but they are still beatable
New Orleans-Hopefully we play them later in the season when we have Webb and Washington back.

So there's 11 wins(should win the Division) 12 if we can beat NYJ, HOUSTON, or NO.

That's a bold prediction. :o Are you expecting Ben to be suspended or something?

You know that saying "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me?" I think that NE will be ready to handle us, but that's just me.

For all passing yards that Houston put up, they actually scored fewer points than the Ravens did. Between the expected improvement for Baltimore and Matt Schaub's fragility, this game might be alot easier than one might think.

I say to heck with this kind of thinking. Im always a really optimistic guy but I dont think im being unrealistic either. There is a chance we could go 9-7 but if this team plays to its full potential theres no reason that we cant go at least 11-5. I like to always shoot for the best. Ive always got my eyes fixed on winning the Super Bowl and nothing less.

With a good draft, I see us going 11-5. If Boldin is injured for more than a couple games, I see us going 10-6. Unless we get a good receiver in the draft, we still don't have anyone who could step up to take the burden off of Mason when Boldin isn't on the field.

Plus defense will need to be addressed early in the draft, or it will only get worst.

Aren't we SUPPOSED to be disappointed when out team loses? You know what's worse than being disappointed when your team loses? Expecting your team to lose. It's just pathetic, being to scared of being "disappointed" to have any confidence in your team. Someone with that mindset loses before they even play the game. Competitors don't think that way. ALWAYS expect to win until you're proved wrong. After the Ravens lose do you feel fine? I mean its not like you expected them to win right? Being optimistic, having faith in your team, means that you take the highs with the lows.

On the whole of the season, I think the Ravens will probably lose a couple games. But come kickoff time, I will NEVER go into the game expecting to lose. And I won't ever be satisfied with a loss. The people who spew "doom and gloom" aren't real fans either, being optimistic means that there's always the next game to look forward to and always knowing your team can win that game. I'm disappointed after a loss, of course. But I won't ever give up on the Ravens and I'll always expect them to come through when it counts.
