QB Sam Bradford - $50 Mil

11 posts in this topic

At foxsports.com they talk about QB Sam Bradford could be the first $50 Mil rookie.

What’s your opinion?

I think no rookie should get such a contract. He has proven nothing at the Pros.

I ask myself what such a contract could do for the negations for the 2011 Season.

Might as well get paid to play with the bottom feeders of the NFL, but seriously big contracts don't get you rings.

It's disgusting... hopefully they institute a rookie wage scale, because it's getting out of hand.

Just look at 49ers QB A. Smith... ok Bradford was great at college but i think if he get picked by the Rams its not the same as when joe took the team for the ravens or Mark Sanchez at the Jets... they had teams... Cassel was great with the Pats but at KC it was a different story.

Completely agree with you. I remember me and one of my classmates who I went to Broadcasting school with did a draft video(which is on youtube so you can look it up) after the 09 draft, and I remember saying that Stafford and Sanchez(at the time I didn't think the Jets were going to be that good) were going to struggle and not have the success Flacco and Ryan had because they had the teams in place.

I look at this year and I just think, for Bradford he's screwed. The Rams have been working on the offensive line which is great by adding Jason Smith and Jason Brown last year, but who the hell is Bradford going to throw to? I can't tell you who the receivers are for the Rams, if they draft Bradford they better take someone like Benn, Williams or Tate in the second to give Bradford someone to throw to. They also got to work on the defense, other wise Bradford will be ruined the way Kyle Boller was except, we had the defense just no line or decent receivers for Boller to throw to.

Now back on topic, if he gets $50 million in guaranteed money, I'm going to flip. I believe that is more than say Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Big Ben, Eli Manning, all who have proven themselves. Please get a rookie wage scale in by 2011!!!!

If Bradford is getting 50 million dollar guarantee contract, I hope the Rams sign him to a 7+ year contract.

Bradford 7 years 50 million dollars guarantee up to 95 million dollars

Stafford 6 years 41.7 million dollars guarantee up to 78 million dollars

Rivers 6 years 38 million dollars guarantee up to 92 million dollars

Eli Manning 6 years 35 million dollars guarantee up to 97.5 million dollars

Ben Roethlisberger 8 years 36 million dollars guarantee up to 102 million dollars

No way Bradford worth 50 million guarantee when proven QBs are making around the mid 30 millions guarantee.

Good thing, this is not the Ravens' problem because we shouldn't be any near the top 10 in the draft with our current roster.

I agree, Ferrari, we need a rookie wage scale, because the outrageous sums offered to some of these rookies just may not be worth the money.

we need an entry contract like in the NHL were the players get 3 years 1 million dollar a year contracts, so the players gotta earn their big contracts

Of cause Teams want long time contracts for good players because of some teams that do everything when they whant a player (like Redskins on Haynesworth). Maybee a "Team-Option" would work. 3 years something between 250k - 3 Millions (i think if you draft a player who will be a starter he deserved to get payed as a starter + positions like RBs can`t play as long as QBs) and than a option for 1-4 years where the players can get more money. If you are able to make 3-9 Millions in 3 years its alot of money. I have no problem when proven Players earn more money... thats the business. And Maybee it would help some players to keep there feet on the ground.
