The umbra are starting to separate and degrade -- so no threat of a flare there. No flare means no coronal mass ejection (CME), which means no threat of "the lights going out".[/i][/font]

Truck stop. I am convinced there was something in the air at the truck stop Tuesday night....we cashiers had a bad night, the Subway kids were super cranky.....the guys in the garage had no computer systems all night and all the folks in the restaurant looked like they wanted to kill each other.


And my geekery knows no bounds....hung all my Avengers posters yesterday and am sitting here with a copy of The Marvel Encyclopedia in my lap.

Man that drive home from work was utterly terrifying. We're under the southern fringe of Draco and getting 35-40 mph sustained winds with 50-55 mph gusts and snow blowing sideways.

Thank gods for the sinus headache that gave me an excuse to leave early. Now I shall relax and wait for the big sneeze.
