It's a stupid award because fans are allowed to vote. It's useless. Peterson won it only twice and guess what, both times he had to break records (rookie rushing record in a game, nfl rushing record in a game) in order to win it. Why? Because the Vikings don't have a big fanbase. The 49ers do. So do the Packers.

Troy Smith really deserves this award, but these are usually popularity contests and since the Ravens aren't on the front burner, he probably will be over looked.

done...Voted for Troy...besides i think it would be a overall confidence builder to win this thing..even though it may not count for much if not anything at all....for him to keep playing hard and practicing hard and becoming a overal better player than he was at the beginning of OTA's in May...its all about Confidence....if a player doesnt have confidence, his performance will suffer because of it.

well, when i first voted we were at 24% and at 29% when it ended. Not enough to win, but certainly made some positive ground. We have to work on building a network of voters to ensure that any raven nominated next year will be certain to win.

No one believed me (not on this board) when I said before the draft that Patrick Willis could be the next Ray Lewis-type linebacker in this league after watching him play for Ole Miss in college...
