i got to thinking after reading the topic about boldin running over troy p.
does anyone know who is up for the freaking cover, and if they do please tell me rice isnt one of the possibilities. i dont think i could handle our boy getting hurt next season due to that curse

According to the countdown on the website, the cover athlete will be revealed in a month, right around NFL Draft weekend. For the first time ever, the cover athlete will be selected via fan votes. I believe the voting period has ended, but the nominees were Drew Brees, Jared Allen, and Reggie Wayne, as stated above.

I thought they'd stick to 2 cover athletes, you know since it splits the curse 50-50.

The most likely guy to get on the cover is Brees and if there's noone else on there with him then the Saints chances of a repeat may just get a little slimmer.

Heh, could you imagine seeing the (for example) Saints offense up on the cover... and the very next year the entire offense (as unlikely on it is) were hit with the injury bug. I doubt many would question the "Madden Curse" then.

He Injured his arm and was out for I think 3 or 4 Games. It was the year where they gave him the Black arm band up near his shoulder on his bicep.

I think they usually don't make the playoffs the following season. Sometimes the "curse" lingers as in the case of the Oakland Raiders.
