We are almost sure to draft Patrick Robinson in the first and Pitta in the second!!
How can you be so sure? We will not be drafting Patrick Robinson in the first round. He will not be the BPA by far when we draft @ 25.

Robinson is way to inconsistent to even make it into the first round.

We are going to have to draft a CB and Robinson is the 2nd higest rated corner in the draft...he might not be available!! Quite the contrary to being the BPA!! He would be close at that time!! But if he isn't we are sure to grab Gresham..but thats if the Ravens liked what they seen out of him!

I don't know where you are getting that he's the second highest rated CB on the board. I see it like this, and I think a lot of people would agree:

1. Haden
2. Wilson
3. McCourty
4. Robinson/K. Jackson

Robinson will still be on the board @ 25 and @ 26 as well. I agree with you that we probably will draft a CB. But that CB will probably be Wilson (if available) or McCourty.

Personally I would take AOA or Cook over Robinson as well.

Still wouldnt be surprised if we drafted another DE in the 2nd round or traded back and picked one with the third rounder.
idk if he would stil be tehre, but what about that Lamarr Houston kid. 6'3, 305 lbs. Great Kid, I hear his size is best for a 4-3 scheme, which i think the Ravens have. I also heard he has a "relentless motor."

Inconsistent is a bad choice of words...he had the most PD on the team and people didnt throw to his side!! But when they were throwing his way in 2007 he had 6 INT's! He's had a ankle injury thats plagued him due to him puttin his body on the line in run support! He's def right behind Haden at CB!!

I admit I haven't heard much of him before the signing. I can recall him playing for the Lions back in 2006 but not more than that. From what I hear from you guys, it looks like a good replacement for Edwards. Looking forward to seeing him on the field!

You're probably right.

I wonder who the CB will be though if they do decide to sign one. I've checked the FA CB list recently and I wouldn't be comfortable with majority of them even as stop-gaps.

I was thinking the same thing. I like the Redding signing because he seems like a solid depth addition. Plus he put up some pretty good numbers for Detroit and the Seahawks, two teams who have little to no other defensive threats. In Baltimore he could flourish. While I don't think this means Ozzie is done with the D Line by any means, I don't think taking a linemen in the 1st round is likely anymore. We need more depth at other positions more now.

I haven't seen anyone saying welcome our new signed player, Cory Redding. I'd like to welcome Cory Redding to our Ravens powerhouse. WELCOME CORY!!!

This is what I'm hoping too. There's something about it when you put on a uniform for the Ravens/Steelers Defenses. You feel your place and you feel the desire to step up your game to meet such high quality standards.

I actually like Jackson a lot better, and taking Pitta in the 2nd would be reaching.

Are there any details yet as to how much we signed Redding for?
2 year 6 million.

With 8 sacks in 2006 I think he's a plus for us. All I would like to say is welcome to Baltimore Cory. I hope you have a great season here.

Glad to see we added some depth to the D-line. He didn't do well in Seattle, but that doesn't mean much because that whole team was pretty bad last year. Hopefully Redding's inside rush ablity will allow the defense some much needed inside pressure. It also sounds as if he's got the size to play as a 3-4 DE. Good pick up Oz!

Jlaw48, Robinson isn't the top CB you think he is. Anyone who supposedly refuses to play the run, isn't a lock-down cover CB and is inconsistent on tape doesn't deserve to be drafted 25th overall.

To stay on topic, I'm hoping this Redding signing turns out a little like when the Ravens signed Pryce.

I agree. It's pretty much a revolving door after Haden, since every CB past that has questions. I'm not high on any particular one who's projected to be still on the board, especially with Devin McCourty and Kareem Jackson raising their stock. I'm a big fan of addressing the DT/DE need, although Cory is not the answer. Just like everyone said, we'll be one of the lucky few teams good enough to pick the BPA.

Redding's versatility is a real plus.

I can see a DL featuring him and Ngata inside with Pryce and Suggs on the outside or him and Pryce as the DEs with Ngata and one of the young NTs on third and long.
Agreed. The fact Redding can play DT & DE positions adds value. Good signing by the front office, let's hope he stays healthy. We still need to draft young DE in the later round, maybe.

Good pickup for the Ravens. Adds depth. We still need to draft a DE. But now Ozzie can concentrate on drafting the best player available. Which is great. :bananallama:

I REALLY like kareem jackson, I think he can be a decent player.. 2 year 6 million for redding? So that equals edwards I guess so we still have our 5.5 million dollar player to sign.

Does this fall within the Final 8 Restrictions?
No, it does not.
