But Troy wasn't exactly going against the Steelers full defense. But regardless, he did great.

I still want to see us get Brohm, but start Troy next year.

Or have a competition for the spot

regardless of whether he was or he wasnt.....he was still listed as the Steelers First string Defense, with a few subs here and there......and it was a matter of progress evaluation for Troy and a chance for both Him as a player to look back on, as well as a chance for the other coaches to look at his overall performance and sit down and go over/work on what needs to be improved, what needs work, what he did well and what he needs to learn.

bring back Chris Redman, see right there Billick was once again wrong about a player......... :P ...just kidding, I wonder if under the new coaching staff if Smith will be the starter or if they would want to bring in a new QB, either through the draft, trade, or FA?

Actually the Ravens were going up against the Steelers first string defense most of the first half, except for Troy Polamalu (no clue how to spell that) who was out with a knee injury.

Wasn't Redman playing against 2nd and 3rd string players?

If they don't stick with Smith then they need to go after Colt Brennan from Hawaii!! Check him ot later tonight at 8:30pm.

I wouldn't mind the Ravens looking at Brennan but I'm interested on seeing how he plays against Georgia. But you can say that he can throw the ball.

He throws to many INT's.

addressing the Positions and our Needs of this team, are our top priorities here, and therefore we will take those players first then look else where to build upon and what not.

Hmmm...You might be thinking of someone else but Brennan doesn't throw too many INT as compared to TD passes?

I still think that Troy showed enough promise to start next season. If the Ravens can get another QB in the draft to compete with Troy and Kyle that would be nice too but I wouldn't waste a 1st or 2nd draft pick on a QB this year. We have to many needs in other places.

I guess he does throw a good amount of TD's, and a lot of attempts, so INT's are bound to show up.

I am not so sure anyone is looking at him though.

he most definately showed promise and the skill needed and, quite frankly ALL the skills we drafted him for on a consistant basis.....and i could actually see him start next season with the way he played this season....and how far he has come from the beginning until now and into the future, but with that being said...he still needs to work on a few things and tweak certain things in which will ultimately make him become a better overall player across the board and benefit this team and organization by Making those good decisions alot more so than mistakes.

I'm sure teams are looking at him but he's not getting all the hype. Its Matt Ryan and Brian Brohm getting the attention. Brady was a 6th round pick and wasnt talked about much and Joe Montana was a 3rd round pick. Not comparing Brennan to those QB's just saying that hype doesn't make you a good QB.

I know that.

Matt Ryan does throw way to many interceptions though. He has like 39 td's and 19 int's.

Thats not very good.

Yes, I agree that teams are looking at him. #1 is that they are undefeated. He is the perfect height for a QB 6'3". It will be a good game to watch against Georgia! I really wasn't impressed with Ryan when Maryland beat their asses. :) But Brennan is a 1st rounder for sure I guarantee. :P

Brennan and his fellow Rainbow Warriors will be ate up by the Dogs tonight.....Brennan reminds me of David Klinger (spelling)of the Houston Cougars back in the early 90's then Bengals in the NFL...great College QB with all the stats, but a terrible NFL QB.....

"Pathetic performance against the gaytors? This coming from another "you can't blame everything on the quarterback (I.E. Boller)." I believe 7 of the 11 players of that florida defense was drafted, i think that might be saying something."

Gaytors? Wow, you provide a point of view that has enlightened my college-to-pro vision of football players. A homophobic(erotic?) reference towards the team that thumped the team you were defending...awesome.

"How about the pathetic performance of USF against Rutgers? They blew the first game they had the #2 ranking hahahaha, Ohio State went the whole season undefeated."

My alma mater has nothing to do with our debate. They are an upstart program with nothing to lose that clearly overachieved this season. Troy Smith is essentially the starting QB of my hometown pro football team. Go back and read my posts, because I am supporting Troy Smith. It's tough love. I want him to to earn the starting job and keep it.

" if McNair comes back we've got to start him, and Troy should be #2, so if the injury prone McNair gets beaten again, send in the young gun."

Good. If Troy Smith gets the nod from our new coach, then I'll support both of them, as long as Troy has the complete confidence of this new head coach. Billick was only going to half-a** troy, which I didn't want to see.

Go Troy! Go Ravens!

i totally agree with that last statement with McNair and Troy..at the end...seemingly like a reasonable option to run with and a safe insurance option to fall back on IF the time comes...besides Troy will only continue to benefit from it by learning from McNair and how to play the position and what not.

Wow, though just imagine our QB named Colt, LOL. It would bring so much attention from being the Baltimore Colts. I'm just being very Superstitious about it :P. I'm not saying Troy is a bad QB, but the name Colt as our QB :).

I think Johnny U's grandson is named Colten, and Ray Lewis's son is name Rayven. Something like that.

Invest confidence in Smith and focus on the secondary and LBs, or get one of the QB I mentioned ITT.

Brohm 71 td's 24 int's 1185 attempts in 4 years

Brennan 131 td's 39 int's 1549 attempts in 3 years

Wow, I had no idea. You were right, Brennan may be the best man for the job.

wow...how ironic is that??? and just think if they make it to the Pro's one day and eventually play for this team and what not, imagine the comparisons and what not that would be talking about/said haha.

and yes Invest every bit of confidence in Troy and his overall ability...because he's shown nothing but consistant play with each week and i would strongly bet anything that Troy will be PRacticing his technique and skill and furthering his skill even more so throughout the off-season....

The thing that has impressed me most about troy smith is just his overall confidence level. He gives you that calm, cool feeling like everything is going to be alright no matter what the circumstance. At this point hes looked better than every rookie QB ive seen this year besides Trent Edwards. He still has a lot of developing to do, you can see with his release point, decision making, etc. However, i dont think a new coach could help him any, only slow him down unless its rex ryan. A whole new offensive system could be tough on a young QB who has just learned the last offense.
