What's The Story With The Jets?

Do they have deep pockets, they make quick decisions with little hesitation and sign guys daily it seems. Who owns the Jets? They are very aggressive.

The Jets are owned by Woody Johnson, who inherited the Johnson & Johnson fortune from his grandfather or great-grandfather (I forgot which.)

It's not Woody Johnson calling the shots, it's their GM Mike Tannenbaum. Tannenbaum is making all these moves because he's been on the hotseat ever since the short-lived Eric Mangini era. He's had his share of bad moves that have overshadowed the good ones he's made. He's basically acting out of desperation, but it remains to be seen if these moves will all pan out.

Once Tannenbaum gets an extension or some sort of job security, you can expect this level of aggression to cease. Every move he's made has been somewhat of a gamble, and although a lot of the moves have looked good, you can tell he's desperate to save his job.

Seems to be an awful lot of hot seats in New York. The Jet's really are moving players in and out, Thomas Jones was one I really didn't get, but L.T.? Well, better them than us! It's good to be a Raven fan, no desperation, real professionals!

Any team that makes a lot of noise in the offseason is usually one that won't go far in the postseason. The best teams are the ones that make only one or two big moves (if that) and build through the draft with solid talent. Unless you have a new regime in place, holding a fire sale or randomly trying to shake things up is NOT a recipe for success.
