Top 10 Draft Picks

I'm sure some (if not most) of us know about the NFL Draft MVP voting.

Now, I know it's not the most reliable or telling way to list your Top Draft Picks ever, since basically it gives you two players and you pick who was the better pick. It then tallies all of your picks and gives you a top 10 of your most picked players. I only skip a match-up if it involves Tom Brady, because... well...

Anyways, I thought it'd be interesting to share our lists. Here's mine:

1. Jerry Rice (49ers, 1985, Round 1, Pick 16) 23 Votes
2. Emmitt Smith (Cowboys, 1990, Round 1, Pick 17) 21 Votes
3. Lawrence Taylor (Giants, 1981, Round 1, Pick 2) 21 Votes
4. Ray Lewis (Ravens, 1996, Round 1, Pick 26) 19 Votes
5. Deion Sanders (Falcons, 1989, Round 1, Pick 5) 18 Votes
6. Marshall Faulk (Colts, 1994, Round 1, Pick 2) 18 Votes
7. Troy Aikman (Cowboys, 1989, Round 1, Pick 1) 18 Votes
8. Darren Sharper (Packers, 1997, Round 2, Pick 60) 18 Votes
9. Drew Brees (Chargers, 2001, Round 2, Pick 32) 17 Votes
10. Terry Bradshaw (Steelers, 1970, Round 1, Pick 1) 17 Votes

If I remember correctly, Shannon Sharpe, Joe Greene, Jonathan Ogden, Jack Lambert, and Dan Marino are also tied at 17 (since they were popping in and out of my 10)

That thing is bogus. Its all luck of the draw as to who you get to vote on. My #1 was willie anderson because he popped up about 10 times more often than anyone else and he was always up against some scrub. I voted about 200 times and Ray Ray only came up twice...

Nice catch :X I didn't even notice that.

Yeah, it is all essentially random. I do love how anyone who's up against David Carr or Kerry Collins always win lol I've gotten a nice mix of greats though. I usually end up getting the scrubs against the scrubs.

:plus-un2:

I know! I agree, I did that because I thought it would be fun to do and vote for every Raven player that comes up...... once in a blue moon. I think it took me 40 votes to get to the first Raven player.... Todd Heap. It took me another 50-60 votes just to find JO, I never once found Ray, Ed Reed, Ngata, Joe, Jermaine Lewis, Jamal Lewis, some of the best steals of the draft that fell to us I could never find. I found Suggs but that's about it. It's a joke if you ask me, they are asking you to compare who was the better draft pick of players who were in different eras as well which is not a fair comparision. They should have labeled it by decade so that you can compare players who most likely played against each other. It's just a complete mess.

One, Joe's not in it. Adalius Thomas, Ogden Suggs, Heap, Jamie Sharper, Reed, Jamal Lewis, Boulware, and Ray Lewis are the only Ravens in it. I'm always getting Heap, Sharper, Thomas, and Boulware. Regardless of the decade a player was from, you can still pick who was the better pick. If you're asking me to pick between Walter Payton and Shaun Alexander, who are you going to pick?

It's random, yes, but it's interesting and fun to do when you have time to kill. If you don't like the match-up, skip it. It's hardly bogus, it's just wonky.

As much as I hate Tom Brady, I think he deserves a spot up there.

You're not going to get a better QB at pick 199.

what is the real point of this anways? WHen you ask "who was the better draft pick?" you are really asking who was the better value. Otherwise, its just who was the better player. For example if you give me the choice between Brady and manning, Mannings the better player, but brady was the better pick. I think most ppl just go with who they think was the better player, regardless of their draft spot.
