Spring Football Festival Announcement

27 posts in this topic

Many fans have inquired about the Spring Football Festival in light of the primetime changes to the NFL Draft schedule.

The Ravens are known to hold an annual spring festival for fans at M&T Bank Stadium every year on the first day (typically Saturday) of the NFL Draft. This year, the Ravens have planned renovations to the stadium including upgrading the end zone video boards to High Definition, and replacing the entire field and field wrap. Due to the extensive work that must be completed before the Ravens' first preseason game at home vs. the Carolina Panthers, the fields must remain clear and the boards will not be able to function.

Canceling the event is something the organization made every effort to avoid, but due to stadium renovations, Spring Football Festival will be impossible to host this year.

In an effort to give fans an opportunity to be a part of the Ravens excitement once more before Training Camp and the beginning of the season, the Ravens are working with the Orioles to bring fans a similar fan experience at a future date. Stay tuned to BaltimoreRavens.com and the Baltimore Ravens Facebook page for continued updates on this and other upcoming events.

Oh yeah, I had forgotten about the renovations, I assume this has to do with the installation of the new screens?

Looking forward to whatever the organization comes up with.

I didn't think the new screens would be put in until like 2012.

UGH, you are kidding me?! This is one draft I am so looking forward to.
What are the renovations that you speak of?

I would begin with more men's bathrooms and more entry points for starters.

I thought they were being upgraded to HD.

They will be HD monitors. They are the HD LED screens.

I sure hope they do something better for out-of-town scores like most baseball stadiums do.

Especially in this day and age of fantasy sports as big as they are, it would be nice to have all the scores of other games posted without having to wait for it to scroll across the bottom of the big screens.

They're using the same guys who did Camden Yards! If they turn out like the O's, it'll be AWESOME!
If you haven't seen The yards' go check them out this season! Super High Quality picture and sound!

I've heard a rumor that the Spring Football Festival will be on June 12, using the same format as last year where your ticket to the Festival gets you into the Mets-Orioles game that night. The O's are having a Orioles-Ravens rally cap night, which could be one hint.

If they're doing it June 12, I'll make sure to block off that day on my calendar.

So, is this still just speculation?
The Orioles have also scheduled four cap giveaways this year. The first 20,000 fans 15 and over will receive a Draft Day O's Ravens Rally Cap, presented by MASN, on Saturday, June 12. And on Sunday, June 13, the popular Orioles Floppy Hat will be available to kids for the first time, as the first 10,000 fans 14 and under will receive an Orioles Kids Floppy Hat before the game against the New York Mets
When I get an E-mail alert to buy tickets to the football fest, then I'll know for sure. I'm sure that will start up soon if they are doing it June 12

Just got the following email from the Ravens. Apparently there will be no SFF this year. :-(
After a tough winter, warmer weather and the NFL Draft are exciting signs that Spring is here and some fans have asked about our annual Spring Football Festival event.

PSL Owners, like you, are our greatest asset and, as a stakeholder, we believe it is very important that we communicate the status of the event for 2010 to you directly.

Renovations to the stadium, including upgrading the Ravensvision boards to high definition and installing a new playing surface, have put us in a difficult position in terms of identifying a date when the stadium would be available to host a significant fan event. Due to these renovations, we will not be able to host the Spring Football Festival this year.

Canceling the event is something the organization wanted to avoid, but these renovations will help M&T Bank Stadium continue to be one of the best venues in the NFL, and make the game-day experience for you even better.

We thank you for your understanding of the situation and are sorry if we have created any disappointment. We appreciate all that you do for us, and we will always seek to return the favor by providing the best experience possible with the Ravens in any way we can.

Sincerely,

Baker R. Koppelman
Vice President, Ticket Sales & Operations
LAME. So, why couldn't they hold it outside of the stadium? Like near the Ravens Walk. I'm pissed now.

This is extremely lame. I am hoping we are all over-reacting and something sweet is set up at the stadium.
And yeah, wearing a Raven's jersey to an O's game makes me feel like a delinquent.
I mean unless I iron it and tuck it into my khakis. :lolpoof:
