Let's Not Pick Up Vasher

10 posts in this topic

@Adam_Schefter: It's not just signings - its cuts, too. Bears released CB Nathan Vasher.

Vasher had some great years early in his career but I think the ship has sailed. I do think he could replace a guy on the depth chart like Walker now that he's most likely gone but that shouldn't be too hard to fill anyway.

Let the speculation begin.

There have been a ton of topics created today. Weird...

As for Vasher, I used to be fan but he's fallen COMPLETELY off the map since '05. Ozzie an co. will likely bring his name up at camp but I doubt he becomes a Raven.

The guy got his job taken by a rookie so you have to wonder if he's even worth bringing into camp.

Agreed. I remember the guy was an absolute FORCE in the Grossman year but it seems their entire defense fell apart after the super bowl.

He's a great article explaining why: http://www.rrstar.com/carousel/x99746168/Former-Bears-great-Dan-Hampton-still-hits-hard

Yep.

Uniforms aside, I could care less about the Bears but it's incredible how bad their D has become recently. They made Cincy look the 9ers of the 80s last season.

The whole defense was great in 05' - 06'. I think Vasher even started over Tillman one of those years.

Excellent read. He hits the mark when it comes to the Bears defense. Hopefully for the Bears, Peppers pays off, because unless they do something substantial to the secondary, teams will continue to pass all over the Chicago D. Let's not even mention Cutler throws to the other team more than his own.

I agree though, Vasher did just kind of luck his way into alot of his interceptions. If we absolutely needed the depth, then hey... gotta do what you gotta do. But Vasher would not be my first choice by far.

Living in Illinois and having alot of friends who are big time Bear fans, even they can't figure out how, after the Super Bowl appearence, their "D" just imploded! It's one of the weirdest things I've seen in way to many years of watching football. As for Nathan, no. If you got cut by Chicago, you can't help us. Younger, leaner, and meaner! Ravens in the second decade!!
