Eh, I don't argue that Cromartie and Revis are amazing together, but I also don't see Hall and Joseph as elite. I saw them exploited a number of times last year and generally am not impressed by their size, speed, or coverage. They're good, I don't deny that, but I would take Revis and a scrub over Hall and Joseph.

Revis is LOCKDOWN, you just don't throw at the guy. Cromartie is jumpy and soft but he will have an advantage with the Jets because they blitz an obscene amount and all the deep balls are going to come Cromartie's way. When was Cro at his best? When Merriman was still on 'roids murdering people in the trenches and hurrying QBs. We're going to see the same thing in New York. :baltimore-ravens: :baltimore-ravens: :baltimore-ravens:

Hall and Joseph gave up plays last season but so does every CB. I watched Reggie Wayne school Revis a few times in the AFCCG including one play where Revis took a terrible angle had to watch his teammates bring down Wayne. Also, teams threw his way a good amount last season. They only completed roughly a 1/3 of their passes but Revis was certainly tested. Teams will really avoid him like they do Asomugha next season though.

You may not consider them elite but Hall and Joseph were universally regarded as Pro Bowl snubs and USA Today named them to their All-Joe team. They shut down most WR corps they faced including the likes of Marshall, Jennnings, Driver, Mason, Holmes, Ward and Rice.

Cromartie could certainly thrive in NY but until I sit, I won't assume anything.

Playing in NY alongside Revis seemed a good destination for Lito Sheppard and look what happened.

I'd take Hall and Joseph over Revis and Cromartie any day.

Harris and Woodson for me, but I agree Hall and Joseph are one of the best CB duos in the league.

Just think back to the things that gave the Ravens defense problems when Rex was the DC and that will prove to be the key to victory imo.

Offenses that could spread the field with 3 or 4 WRs and operate in the no huddle.

Also it was play making TEs and big WRs working over the middle of the field that gave us problems. Not to mention pass catching RBs

Well if you look at the Ravens we have all those options available. Boldin, Mason, Clayton, Stallworth, Heap, and even a guy like Marcus Smith or maybe a draft pick like Gresham, those guys will be able to spread the offense.

Think back to the kind of performance Boldin had the last time he faced a Rex Ryan defense. Boldin gave us hell, glad to have him in purpule this time.

Then there is Ray Rice in space. With the WRs spreading things out, that'll give Rice space.

Right now the Ravens offense is so unpredictable. Think about it, two years ago we ran the ball more then any other team and had great success with our 3 headed monster attack. Then last year we came out and threw the ball all over the field, with much success.

In fact the Ravens had one of the top scoring and passing offenses during the first 5 weeks. I think we were over 30 points per game during that time.

So we really don't know what Cam will do on offense. Also think about this, if the Ravens go back to using the 3 headed monster, think about what happened the last time a Rex Ryan defense played a team with a 3 headed monster as good as the Ravens. It was the Giants and they ran all over us.

So the Ravens will have options when it comes to dealing with the Jets. It'll just be a case of who's offense can take advantage of opportunities first.

The Jets are just a more hyped up version of the Billick-era Ravens. Good Defense, Decent running game, but their QB just threw 20 picks last season. Not even the great Boller threw 20 picks in his rookie season.

lol that just hurts

I expected Mark to be throwing a slew of picks, not touchdowns in his rookie season. He's a Cali boy and now he's in NY throwing bricks in 10 degree weather. I don't view him as a franchise QB though. He also shouldn't have been starting as a rookie when he was so underdeveloped in college.

Drafting Mark as one of the top overall draft picks and starting him in the NFL as a rookie after ONE decent season in College that ended with a bang.... well, it's like a 85 year old man throwing the Depends in the trashcan because he made it to the toilet once.

Manning was also asked to throw the ball a lot more than Sanchez. To throw 20 picks when your OC is trying as hard as he can to minimize the amount of pass attempts you have isn't a good sign.

Sanchez will be solid imho. Their defense isn't as good as ours was but their offense is definitely better. Sanchez is a hard worker, he's ambitious, and (as much as we all hate to admit it) he's talented.

I'm tired of hearing about players "regressing" over the course of the season, especially rookie/young QBs. There is definitely a ceiling where the amount that a young QB can process and improve in one year is outpaced by the amount that defenses can adapt to their strengths and weaknesses.

Veterans keep you guessing all year but a young QB doesn't have the expertise to do that so of course you're going to see a drop off in production as defenses start to look at tape and break a guy down.

All that being said, next year won't be Sanchez break through and we'll probably feast on he and Rex's confidence. :baltimore-ravens: :baltimore-ravens: :baltimore-ravens:
