So I thought I would start a thread about Movies. Here we can talk about favorite movies, upcoming movies or very crappy movies that we will never want to see again.

First up,

IRON MAN 2 Extended Trailer

This is the EXTENDED trailer of the upcoming blockbuster that will come out to theaters May 7th. If you dont feel like watching the whole thing (you are unamerican) at least watch the last ten seconds. It is pretty sick.

Feel free to comment on this movie and other movies.

The next best comedy movie is going to be "Kick A$$".

KickA$$ has gotten solid reviews as the next great superhero flick without having to resort to the kid-friendliness of Spider-Man or the dark gravitas of The Dark Knight. It's apparently a nice balance of comedy and superhero action. The language and violence is a bit heavier than your standard superhero fare, but a lot of it is tongue-in-cheek and works well. I'm curious as to how much I'll like it when I go to see it.

Meanwhile, Iron Man 2 definitely looks like it'll do huge numbers, and I'm anxious to see how they ease that transition into the story arc about Tony Stark's alcoholism. I've read that the alcoholism angle is being worked in there, and that it'll be full-blown by the time the third film is released. Robert Downey, Jr. was fantastic in the first film so I see no reason this second one will bomb, even if the story turns out to be thin.

I'm also looking forward to the upcoming live-action Tekken film. Though the trailer looked a little corny, it should be a decent martial-arts flick, given the cast. They focused more on casting fighters who happened to act, rather than actors who learned to fight. The game's story is a little weak to begin with, so I'm not expecting this to be the greatest movie ever. But I have hopes for it that it'll at least get to a B-movie level of respectability like the first Mortal Kombat film -- but with loads more quality fighting.

Tekken, eh? Havent seen the trailer yet. Hopefully it wont be like Dead or Alive. But I agree, I think Iron Man 2 really cant fail.

I would love the Marvel Universe to do a huge movie (shoot even a cartoon would be fine with me) based on the Civil War series which pitted Captain America versus Iron Man. I see a problem if its live action of paying Tobey Mcquire, RDJ, Hugh Jackman, etc. But yeah, Iron Man 2 will be real good and im glad Favreau isnt turning these movies into corny family movies like Spider-Man and X-Men.

My daughter and I are going to see "The Crazies" on Tuesday. It looks like Mayberry meets Resident Evil minus Milla but we both like Timothy Olyphant, so we'll see.

The Tekken trailer that's circulating on the Internet right now is actually a rough cut and not what they'll release as the domestic or international trailer. The movie is slated to premiere in Japan soon, with a direct-to-video release planned for the UK. No word on a domestic U.S. release, but given his moderately-sized budget, there's a 50/50 chance that it'll be a theatrical release. Warner Bros. is reportedly handling the Japanese distribution, so there's a chance they'll pick it up Stateside if it performs well overseas.

Here's the Tekken trailer that's been circulating for a couple months now:

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=st6dHmDSkhY

So far, it looks like it'll be better than the Dragonball movie or Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, but might barely exceed the original Street Fighter live-action film in quality. I'm not sure. Like I said, not expecting a movie with great acting, but just an entertaining one with great fights. And the characters, for the most part, at least look like their videogame counterparts. Can't say the same for the horrid King of Fighters film...

I didn't think Alice in Wonderland was as bad as everyone said. However, the ending was pretty lame and the
breakdancing scene
made me want to kill myself.

Finally saw Marley and Me. Depressed the crap out of us. I watched it with my 12 year old yellow lab by my side too. Overall though, it was a very good film.

I obviously think not everyone will enjoy this movie but it really looks like it will have a Law Abiding Citizen/Gran Torino feel to it. I personally love Michael Caine so I will definitely be checking this out.

We ended up seeing "Shutter Island". Very interesting movie, but not one that needs to be seen in a theater. You won't lose anything waiting for it to come out on DVD. That said, the ticket price was not a waste.

Actually, I feel as if Harry Brown could be an understated surprise vigilante film like Taken but with the emotional hook of a Gran Torino. I read the plot summary out of curiosity and I was genuinely intrigued. If the acting is up-to-snuff, I think I'd really enjoy the film.

Taken was a great film, largely because of Liam Neeson's acting. The action, while brutal, wasn't overly spectacular and I appreciated that. It relied more on the emotions of a person willing to go to great lengths for a loved one. Harry Brown could very well be the same type of film. And in the vein of Gran Torino, an old-timer taking action after being fed-up with his environment can go beyond the novelty factor if the acting is extremely well-done.

I recently saw The Hurt Locker, that was a really good movie. My brother thought it was better than Saving Private Ryan, but I didn't think so. Still overall a really good movie deserving all of the oscars that it won.

No way, no how. It was a great movie, but Saving Private Ryan will go down as one of the finest war movies ever.

I saw "Shutter Island" the day it came out. I was... actually kind of let-down. It dragged and dragged and dragged. Some of the acting seemed stiff and forced to me as well. Not to mention I saw the twist coming a mile away. The movie was nothing like I was expecting, and is worth a rental more than going to the theater.

Give from paris with love a try.... Very cool movie.
From Paris was much better than I was expecting. Had a very nice blend of action and humor. Travolta was absolutely insane and badass, which only made the movie better. I'd also recommend it.
