Brady Quinn has just been dealt to the Broncos in return for FB Peyton Hillis, a 6th round 2011 pick and a 2012 conditional pick

EDIT:
Browns also just traded LB Kamerion Wimbley to the Raiders and as of this point no one knows the value of the draft picks they have received.

I'm scratching my head on who got the better deal.

Broncos win if Brady Quinn somehow shows up and leads the Broncos because they didn't give much with a depth RB, a low pick, and a conditional pick that might be mid pick.

Browns win if Brady Quinn turns out to be a bust because they made his ridiculous contract the Broncos' problem and that they got some values by trading him.

It's going to be an interesting situation now.

All I know is that if the Browns still have a QB problem, expect them to get mauled by their division rivals and draft in the top 5 again.

Wow, Wimbley and Quinn traded away on the same day? Mike Holmgren's really looking to clean house. But, unlike Bill Parcells with the Dolphins, not sure if Holmgren's moves will pay immediate dividends.

I don't know who got the most of this deal either.
All I know is that Hillis was very underrated in Denver and he can develop into a solid FB for the Browns.

Keep it up Browns!

Trade away your 1st Rounders for cheap low round picks.

They're definitely steals to everyone.

Remember, if you mess up your drafts, your team will not catch-up with the rest of the league because everyone has about 3-4 players better than yours.

Brady Quinn looks like ruined 3-4 years of Browns' progress.

I hope we give a low conditional 2012 pick for Joe Thomas.

He's a bust too while you're at it because Browns can't save a QB in the AFC North.

What does all these names have in common.

2003 - Jeff Faine - C - traded to NO by switching 2nd round picks
2004 - Kellen Winslow II - TE - traded to TB for 2nd and 5th round picks
2005 - Braylon Edwards - WR - traded to the NY for 2 mid round picks and 2 players that are drafted low
2006 - Kamerion Wimbley - LB - traded to Oakland for 3rd round pick
2007 - Brady Quinn - QB - traded to Denver for low picks and a 3rd sting RB

They're all 1st rounders drafted by the Browns. The Browns shouldn't even pick in the 1st Round because they're just a waste of space.

Well congratulations broncos? I don't quite know how I feel about this trade.
On the bright side though Quinn could blow up and do something great there. Or just bomb... Can't wait.

Funny thing is, last off-season when there was all the rumors of who would go where, I remember thinking there was going to be a way for Quinn to land in Denver, through a 3 way trade or just straight up trade, just didn't think it would take a year for it to happen lol. I also did this in Madden 10 one time when I did a Broncos Franchise, and it worked out pretty well for me actually, and is it just me or am I the only one who thinks Quinn will thrive in Denver? Granted McDaniel's offense is a Plug and play type of deal sort of like how the Ravens are with Defense but look at Cassel, the only reason he had success in NE was because of the system, Brady goes down and Cassel leads them to an 11-5 record, sure Moss and Welker had some credit in that as well. They land Kyle Orton and for the first 6 weeks, they looked good and Orton looked pretty good, now we have Quinn, and I'm thinking Denver got the better end of the deal.

For a Football Czar, Holmgren is doing terrible. Same ol Cleveland to me.... and to the poster who brought up the list of # 1 draft picks and how they have been traded.... luckily for Joe Thomas and Alex Mack(last year's first round pick) Mike isn't that dumb to trade away offensive lineman, well at least I don't think.... and your right someone snatch up the 7th overall pick now and save Berry, Haden or whoever else they may draft..... other wise they will be traded 3-4 years down the line... though if you look at this and they take Berry, I'll tell Ozzie to give them a 4th, a random player and a conditional 2014 pick for Berry... yeah on second thought take Berry and we'll take him off your hands a few years down the line. :)

P.S. The Browns traded Wimbley to the Raiders for a 3rd Round Pick, so now the Browns have Oakland's 3rd round pick. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/03/14/report-browns-get-raiders-third-round-pick/

Edit: I have an idea, Ozzie call up and offer Gaither and a 4th in 2011 and a conditional 2012 pick for Joe Thomas, quick before he gets taken off the bargain bin. LOL Just Kidding, Just want to see if anyone will catch that. B)

Edit 2: They now only have 2 first round picks left on the team.... Joe Thomas(2007) and Alex Mack(2009) Wow! Great Job Cleveland! :sarcasticclap:

So... let's see.
Derek Anderson: Gone
Brady Quinn: Gone
Seneca Wallace: Obtained
Jake Delhomme: Obtained

So that leaves... Wallace, Delhomme, and Ratliff as the three QBs currently on the Browns roster. It's great to see that they really addressed that quarterback problem they had from last year. Can't wait to see Delhomme (if he does start) go up against our defense twice next year.

I can see that most likely Cleveland is going for picks to try (desperately) to get some quality, young talent to try to get their plagued team to a respectable level. However, I don't exactly foresee them making good, smart picks in the draft. Trading away their "best" (and I use that term loosely) players right now for potential stars of the future could pay off, I s'pose. One thing is for certain, however. Cleveland fans should be prepared for at very least another year of dismal play.

With the Browns' failure rate in the 1st round, they are a prime example of why it's always better to build through the draft than free agency. This is specifically why the Ravens avoid going after big-name free agents every offseason and only take calculated risks.

As for Mike Holmgren...he'll have to do more house-cleaning in the organization than just the roster itself if he wants to return the team to respectability. The problem isn't necessarily all the players -- it's the people in charge. The entire personnel department needs to be gutted over the next two years, and I have a sneaking suspicion that Eric Mangini is a lame-duck coach right now until Holmgren can find someone he's friendly with to take over. Holmgren himself probably won't be interested in coaching since he already has enough of a job on his hands, trying to clean house.

On the Cleveland Browns board some guy named DAWGPOUND16 said it is one of the greatest day ever as a Browns fan. Just goes to show how they feel about it.

I can't help but laugh. Holmgren needs to dump one more thing in my opinion. Mangini, and when the Browns get off to the slow start that they are almost assuredly going to, it would not suprise me to see big Mike on the sideline. Denver on the other hand, well, better them then us! I think having a "Little Hoodie" as your HC is never gonna work out good. I think J-Mans post about Browns fan DAWGPOUND16 says about all that needs to be said, greatest day, really? I thought getting a team back might be a little higher on that list, but what do I know I was only A Baltimore Colt fan! Bet they're printing Super Bowl Tickets in Dever too! I would love for you to please define your logic as to how Joe Thomas is a "bust." Please.. enlighten me.

To give a general "consensus" about all of the moves I think they are moves that won't pan out now but will down the road. Delhomme sucked last year there is absolutely no denying that; however there are two things about him that stand out:

1.) Before last year he WAS a pretty good overall QB. Perhaps he had just one horrible tank-job year.
2.) Probably not exactly bright news but a bad Delhomme is an upgrade over what we had the last two years.

Our team as a whole is pretty terrible; there are some really bright spots but as far as depth goes they're bad. The main reason for that is bad drafting. Worse than bad really when you go down the line of the later draft picks. I really liked Quinn but am glad he will go somewhere where he'll get a chance. Trading Wimbley was the right move and we got a really good draft pick out of it as well.

Holmgren is preparing this team for the future; not this season. He's doing it the proper way of building draft picks up to get some good talent. While our past management has done this as well they've drafted terribly; hopefully Holmgren/Heckert doesn't produce those same results.

I'm a die hard raven fan but live in colorado! There is no faith here in Denver and you can tell McDaniels is desperate for anything after starting 6-0, and finishing 8-8! There failures started with a raven win! wooooooo. Brady Quinn tho?
