Hope this works for him. I seriously hope Atlanta didnt pass on him just because of his weight.

I wish him luck with it because he at least recognizes that his weight is an issue.

That said, that's about all I wish him luck with. (Yes, my beef with the "SANCHIZE" continues!)

As a human being, I wish him good luck and the surgery will go well.

As a football fan, I don't like his attitude. Possibly, his continuing trashed talk on the media really gets on my nerve. He's my dislike on the fooball field.

Most of us feel the same way, AsianRice.

I for one despite all my animosity am very glad to hear he's taking care of his health now. Head coaching is stressful and even more so in NY so anything he can do to unpudge is fine by me!

I agree. As a fellow human being I hope this procedure helps him. I know a couple people who have done the staples and other problems they have run into along the way.

Wouldnt it make more sense to attempt to get his like 10,000 calorie diet a day under control before surgery?

The ESPN article reported he lost like 30 pounds and then gained it back relatively quick. This surgery will be completely useless unless he figures out a natural way to maintain his weight.

I like Rex cuz he is a real guy. He will tell you what he thinks and not side step questions like Harbaugh does. Billick was the same way.

For some people, it's not that easy, so quit with the judgment.

Y'all obviously don't know anything about the procedure or what it will do. I haven't experienced it myself but I do know people who have had the lap band procedure or gastric bypass.

Quit with what? I am not condemning him for his decision. All I said is that this will essentially be a temporary fix unless he changes his way of life. I am actually rooting for the exact opposite of what you are perceiving, I am hoping that he can do this and then find a way to maintain his fitness level but acknowledge that if he thinks this will be the be all end all he is mistaken.

Also the Lap-Band procedure he is getting is designed to make him feel fuller faster so he eats less. Its like putting on the training wheels before you try to ride the bike. Eventually he will have to transition to watching what he eats instead.

Read Savage's second post here, he sums up what I meant, maybe naively not explaining fully what I did mean. No disrespect at all.

Couldnt agree more, he really really gets on my nerves on how full of himself he is.

But I do hope he can keep his weight down, that must be a hard thing to live with.

Yea, football aside, I really hope it helps Rex out. He really looked way heavier than I remember seeing him before. Face it, like him or not, the man has a family, not to mention a life outside of the game.

Wow! Not sure if you any of you guys saw Rex on Total Access last night on NFL Network but Rex looks like he has recovered well. He said that in 3 weeks he has lost 40 pounds, and just watching the video and looking at him, you can tell that he has lost weight. 40 in 3 weeks, that's just great for Rex.

They were talking to him about the Jets being the star of this year's Hard Knocks, talked about getting Cromartie and at the end they talk about his weight loss in which he said he lost 40 lbs. Here's the video of it for the people who don't have NFL Network. Congrats Rex!
