What If Quinn Would Have Landed Here?

24 posts in this topic

Remember that draft day not so long ago when we attempted to slide up to nab Brady Quinn only to have the Browns pull a last second move to pick him? What if that would have never happened and we picked him and there was never a Flacco? Would we all be venting now about yet another QB bust or is he just a victim of the talent around him? Food for thought

Definitely the lack of talent around him. Not that that should be an excuse because every NFL QB should be able to find the open read in a game, but I'll give him some credit as to having only Jamal Lewis as a viable option. Also Edwards, but I'm pretty sure it was only Anderson who got to utilize him more. It also doesn't help having to play the Ravens and Steelers twice a year also. But I'm very happy that we got Flacco. Quinn just doesn't have the "it" factor to me.

We would be talking about our newly signed targets for Troy Smith to throw to.

We would be deciding on whether or not to choose Sam Bradford with our #1 Pick.

We would be waiting for Brett Favre to make a decision. Then we would ponder trading up for a QB.

who knows. I'm not ready to consider Quinn a bust yet. They slowly took away any weapon he had, and most QB's would look awful with those offensive weapons he had last year.

I think Quinn is a bust. The MNF game in Cleveland showed me all I needed to see. I don't think I've ever seen a QB hurl so many deep balls out of bounds.

As for what would have happened had the Ravens drafted him, I can't even imagine. He definitely wouldn't be the starter anymore.

We would all be trash talking him and saying "what were they thinking"
All in all I am ever so grateful we got Joe and the way he is progressing is just amazing to watch week to week.

Kyle Boller 2.0, minus the "I can throw a pigskin a quarter mile" arm.

It's funny that you say that because Quinn reminds me so much of Boller. He's so rigid and he fires balls wildly. Every time he drops back you just get so nervous because the possibility for a turnover is great.

So happy we have Flacco and no more nerve racking offensive seasons.

I'd like to blame Quinn's bad play on the fact he plays for the Browns... but after watching him closely... he's just plain bad. Outside of 20 yards he's horribly inconsistent.

Like it has been already mentioned, Quinn does look like a second version of Boller.
I don't even want to think of having Quinn as our starting QB... it's just.. not right. :th_shame:

I'm sorry but when you miss screen passes out of bounds with no pressure, I can call you a bust

I just don't understand why we would trade for Quinn. We would need to give up something to get a backup quarterback. Unless they gave him to us then he isn't worth it. Even then, he gets paid way too much for being a backup. Just irrelevant to the Ravens.

My fault, I understand now. I think there is some truth that Quinn could be more successful in Baltimore. Kind of like the idea that everything Oakland touches turns to ashes, I think the Ravens could have made Quinn a better QB than what he is. But I just don't like his mentality. I think that's what hurt Boller. He wasn't strong enough mentally, I just don't think Quinn is either to be a good quarterback in the NFL

Had we drafted Brady Quinn this forum would be full of threads for every FA and draftable QB in existance. Ohh, and Jake Delhomme would probably be backing up/pushing Troy for the starters job as we, the fans, wondered where it all went so horribly wrong, just as most Browns fans are doing right about....now.

What is now, is what its meant to be. If you spend too much time looking back you will walk into a pole! Eyes forward, Joe Is twice the QB Brady will ever be. If he was that good do you not think Ozzie would have not found a way to get him? Case in point Anderson. He did get cut for a reson! Foget Brady, Anquan is here, and more to come! Let the Browns be, well losers, and let the Ravens be contendens!
