Ravens Will Feast On Delhomme's Miscues

I'd say 2 picks per game against Jake will be the minimum.

I think Seneca will be the QB next year. Delhomme just hasnt been same since the Tommy John Surgery.

May I just say, it cracks me up as a Navy fan to see Brady Quinn do so bad in the NFL that even the BROWNS dont want him. Just like that EAS Commercial "now i'm done".

I dont know about you guys but I'm hoping to continue the trend of getting a Browns QB benched every game. We're up to 3 straight games so far.

Jake Delhomme is a respectable character in the NFL and a hard worker, but yeah, I can't wait to play him this year. And now, he's got no Steve Smith to throw to, so what's he gonna do if he even starts?

Without a doubt. But I just don't care about somebody being a "respectable character" on the field. If he has the ball and he's on the other team, knock his lights out. Same goes for everybody else. Also, even when he did have Smith he threw for more interceptions than TD's, and nobody in the Browns lineup even comes close to his talent.

I would have to assume a very competitive (pathetic) QB competition in Cleavland come training camp.

My Money is on Seneca Wallace. Holgrem drafted him.

Not just our D he also has to play against the Steelers and improved Bengal D.

Our defense is going to be a nightmare for him.

haha yes. I was talking to my friend earlier about this. Went something like "Ok Jake. I like you, think you're a decent guy and a good ball player.. but you just signed your death warrant. Now you must suffer General Lewis, Brigadier General Reed, and the Defenders of the North."

My point exactly. And yeah, I don't care much for "character" either.

I don't think Quinn was benched in the second game last season (nor Anderson benched in either game last season), but I could be mistaken.

Yes, that's right, couldn't agree more. Well, and if not benched, maybe knocked out. I wish we could say the same about Squeelers.

There is a new Maryland Lottery at M&T Bank Stadium - it's called "Jake's Pick 6". The only question is, who's gonna take it to the house....lol :229031_rofl:

I just dont think he will get picked off that much because of the installed West Coast Offense of short yardage plays and not really airing the ball out deep. Then again, I think the picks will come from Linebackers. Just dont think Ed will get his hands on one.

As opposed to Derek Anderson or Brady Quinn? I respect Jake Delhomme a lot, a very classy player and hard worker, no one ever really considered him as a legit QB, similar to the likes of Kurt Warner and he accomplished a lot in his career. And you can tell the Panthers organization respected him a lot, really wanting to keep him around. He is a definite upgrade at QB for the Browns at least, i think your post was a little classless, i'm not even sure he is going to be a starter, and if he was signed in hopes he could mentor a future young QB, it was a great move by Holmgren.

Delhomme threw 18 INTs in 11 games, alongside of the 3rd best Rushing Offense and superstar WR Steve Smith. Anderson and Quinn were forced to compete without either Edwards or Winslow. The Browns also had an inconsistent ground game that only flourished towards the end of the Season. He will also earn a starters paycheck, $7 million to be exact, whether is he is on the field, or on the sidelines with a clipboard. The move just doesn't make much sense, because he's obviously past his prime and I'm sure they could've found a better mentor for under the salary they've just entitled him to.

I seriously doubt Mike Holmgren doesn't know what he is doing. I don't know if I have to explain what that man has done in this league. Even with his last project in seattle, people doubted him with the players he brought there including Matt Hasselbeck. Steve Smith isn't even the best Steve Smith in the NFL anymore. Very good player, but he is no Andre Johnson, and even then- Matt Shaub has sucked at times before finally making a pro bowl last year. I don't put a whole lot into that. Anderson and Quinn were just as bad if not worse the previous year with Kellen Winslow and Braylon Edwards. What the Ravens did with Steve McNair must've not made sense to you either then, when old past his prime mcnair came in and broke ravens passing records, winning % records and mentored the offense and brought confidence, leadership, experience the team had never seen.

The thing too is that Jake's picks are usually on ridiculously awful throws. Ten yard overthrows or "punts-like' passes up in the air are commonplace.

There was a thread on here during the season that mentioned that Ray could be the 1st LB with 30 sacks/30 picks if he got 2 more picks...well, playing Jake twice may help him achieve that milestone!
