Ravens Reign

Who had the worst off season?

IMO i think that the Falcons do. If Goodell decides he wants to suspend Vick then the team is in real trouble when it comes to offense. I can almost garantee you that they will lose all the games that Vick doesn't play in. I'm only saying this because Schaub sucks big time and i think he is the second worst pro QB (first place going to Rex Grossman).

The Chargers and Steelers

Chargers:

-Lost ALL of their mainstay coaches, HC, OC, and DC

-Added no one substantial

Steelers:

-Lost their HC, OC, and O-Line coach

-Added no one substantial

Hopefully, both of them suck next year.

3 easy wins

FYI....Schaub got traded to the texans, the falcons backups are Joey Harrington and Chris Redman.....

Oh wow! I honestly did not know he got traded. So now i'd probably say Broncos had the worst off season. They had to bury 2 of their players within the past 8 months :(

Buffalo by far

how do they help their tackling problem...they get rid of takeo spikes and london fletcher

they actually have a positive side to that abomination in the pass defense and they get rid of nate clements

they send willis mcgahee to us he is a workhorse its just that he had a horrible line.

but atleast they signed the anchor of the 26th run defense and got a lineman from the raiders

seriously the only thing they did good was sign derrick dockery

theyll be lucky to get 1 win

Out of curiosity, why do you think Schaub is so bad? In the games he filled in for Vick he looked very good - many would argue the Falcons would have had a better chance of success with Schaub behind center than the one trick pony that is Vick. The Texans gave up a lot to acquire Schaub, so given his apparent potential and limited playing time so far, how do you conclude Schaub sucks?

thats because it was against possibly the worst secondary in 2005 vs new england and against eagle's backup secondary

guess what he did against a good defense in the 05 bucs....FUMBLES IN THE ENDZONE AND GIVES THEM A TD

yeah we wouldve beaten the bucs and had a good shot at the playoffs. we shouldve beaten them twice that year but we did stupid stuff i say we im a falcon fan too

As a back-up, he wasn't very impressive.

He's lost every game (2) he has started, and has a 69.2 QB rating

He has a 6 TD, 6 INT ratio and a 52.2 comp %

not very impressive to me

My point was Ravens Reign said he was the 'second worst pro QB' - I don't think you can annoint someone that based on two starts.

Having said that I saw the New England game in '05 and he didn't do too much wrong. Yes, he's an uncertain quantity but I wouldn't write him off as a bust just yet.

I don't agree with him being the 2nd worst starting QB, but he's not the savior of the Texans

I also don't agree with Grossman being the worst

He's been inconsistent, but not consistently bad like some..

At first I was thinking, what?! I thought the broncos made great moves this offseason. Then I finished reading and have to agree with you.

Worst offseason? Well, Denver buried 2 of their players, Atlanta traded their best QB to Houston and their other QB is about to get himself suspended, Pittsburgh lost their coaching staff and Joey Porter and Faneca is on his way out, San Diego lost their coaching staff, Kansas City aged another year (could Oakland win the West this year?), The Eagles lost their backup QB to Tampa and their starter is about to pull a Culpepper. Cincinnati's 3rd WR got suspended. Tennessee lost their RB and their best defensive player got suspended. Chicago didn't bench Grossman and they lost Tank Johnson and Thomas Jones.

Its tough to pick out any one team.

Atlanta? schaub was not their best QB besides their a pure running offense pretty much any QB that can run is gonna be fun

denver signed enough people so it doesnt really matter if they buried 2 players

kansas city yea they aged another year but larry johnson is gonna be a worhorse until 2010

oakland will still be the bottom team

Denver pobably will win followed by Kansas City as the wildcard and San Diego barely misses

while oakland loses every divisional game

We'll see. Roaf and Shields are gone, which is a massive blow to the Chiefs. Part of their success was based on the fact that they had, year in and year out, two of the most dominating linemen in football. Johnson's a stud, but we'll see a bit of a dropoff from him, especially since he had over 400 carries last season.

While I think Denver will actually be the best team in the AFC not playing ball in Baltimore it's still gotta be the worse to have to bury two active players in one offseason.

Titans....

They lost Pacman, Travis Henry, and all their receivers.

They picked up a bunch of ex-Colt defensive players that stink! (except Nick Harper....but as we saw in the Saints game, the Defense you play in has a lot to do with it) With them picking up former Colt TE, Ben Hartsock, you might as well call the Indy South or Indy's JV.
