Hmm well Ben Tate is a free agent as well, should I pick him up?

I was gonna choose slaton, but someone took him with the 8th overall pick(yeah, idk he is idiot). I feel like Tate will eventually start this season.
I still haven't given up on Slaton. I'm hoping this will be a revival year for him. He's a very talented back that can catch out of the backfield. Good kid.

There's no way in hell I'd grab him with the 8th overall pick. But I might be able to get good value for him in later rounds.

That 8th overall pick should mean the 8th round. Wow.

So should I not grab Ben Tate? Because I feel like they drafted him so he can share carries with Slaton.

Yes get Tate, but do not drop Hakeem Nicks. I think he's going to have a sensational year.

Ben Tate is gonna be a stud. Slaton has a serious neck problem. I highly doubt he will get more than 3rd down runs.

Tate has value but don't forget about Arian Foster. Not that he's guaranteed to be there Week 1 but Foster is currently atop Houston's depth chart.

Houston's backfield is really an enigma. You have Slaton who the Texans like on passing downs, Tate who the Texans want to see what he can do, and Foster who could command 3rd downs.

I'm steering clear of it. There are better situations worth investing in.

But Foster didn't put up exactly stunning numbers considering the Texans had the worst running game in the NFL. I feel like the offensive line can block because Slaton had a good year a few years ago. Slaton now is in question that he will ever be an effective running back again because of his neck and shoulder issue. I just think that Tate could really break out into the scene. I'm definitely picking him up and giving him a try this year. The Texans running offense can only get better. And with a top passing offense they have, the running game has to go up with Ben Tate.

LOL! They're in even worse shape.

Forsett is talented but doesn't seem like an every-down RB, Julius Jones is doing just enough to hang onto a roster spot and Washington is coming off a broken foot.

I'll pass.

I don't doubt Tate can, but Tate also hasn't played at the NFL level yet. There are a whole bunch of different scenarios that could happen in Texas.

The one thing that I've learned over the past two years is whatever the running back situation looks like in Texas when you draft - won't be the same come a couple of weeks into the regular season.

I can see that. But for those reasons are ones that won't make you give up a high pick for Ben Tate. He is a 9th round pick with a huge amount of upside. Worst comes to worst, he doesn't get that many carries. But looking at the running backs there I feel like he is going to get a chance. Low risk, high reward. I live for those boom and bust players in the later rounds. Glad I did it with Benson and Rice last year. There is always at least one running back in the later rounds that performs beyond expectations every year. I just think he has the best chance to do it.

Not to correct you but Washington is coming off breaking his leg. The man broke his femer in several places which is your thigh bone. Apparently its the worst pain for a broken bone. Glad I haven't had a personal experience with that.

Looking into my roster from 2009, and looking at who dominated last year, as well as looking at free agency and draft projections, I've compiled a list of good players to draft and when to draft them.

Ray Rice (#1 RB) Draft in the 2nd Round if available. Ray Rice is coming into his 3rd year and was highly productive in his 2009 season. With more weapons at WR for the Ravens, expect the defense to spread their coverage more, which means bigger gains for Rice.

Andre Johnson (#1 WR) Draft in 3rd Round. Andre Johnson put up big numbers all through the 2009 season. With a strong passing game in Houston, Andre is a threat to any defense.

Reggie Wayne (#1B WR) Draft in 3rd round if Andre Johnson isn't available. Wayne will be looking to repeat an outstanding season, and another Superbowl appearance. With talent around him, and Payton Manning at the head of their offense, Reggie Wayne will be there in your fantasy league if you make it to the playoffs.
Good luck grabbing any of those players in anything other than the first round. Rice is a projectd top 4 pick, and Johnson isn't far behind him.

The average picks for the mentioned players are:
Rice: 5.1 (1.0 Round)
Johnson: 8.0 (1.0 Round)
Wayne: 18.1 (2.3 Round)

Your advice is way off.

Either way you are right about Seattle. I am going to avoid Seattle's run game too. Just not a whole lot of upside

Nope.

Not much upside at any position in Seattle.

Personally, I may consider either Leon Washington or Justin Forsett as a player to claim off waivers for a week, if they have a good match-up. However, that largely depends on how the depth chart turns out at the start of the season. Forsett had some good games last year when I claimed him off waivers.

Poor Seattle. They almost do everything they can do to succeed, and it looks great at the moment, but it comes back to bite them where the sun doesn't shine.

I tried to get Forsett last year but lost the waiver claim. Litttle did I know Jamaal Charles would go into Chris Johnson mode.

I didn't get on the Jamaal Charles Wagon in time last year. By the time I thought of picking him up, he was long gone.

Some of his runs last season were ridiculous.

Wonder which RB is going to come out of left field this year.

I had Forte last year. After that disappointment, I won't be drafting him again. I even did one worse than Jacobs, and picked Bradshaw to back Forte up.

Why? With Mike Martz in town, he'll give Forte more chances. He even said himself that his burst is back, and he'll be heavily involved in the pass game. I'm not saying he's a must have, but he could be back to the form he was in two seasons ago, and could very well be a steal where his projected draft slot currently is.

As for Jacobs, I've read that he should be in line for 10+ scores, because he'll be involved in more goal lines than last year. Also, wasn't he hurt in the latter part of the season? I think both guys are primed to have huge years again.

ATD, I can't even explain how many players I now dislike because they killed my fantasy teams lol.

Mike Martz give a running back more chances? Hardly. Martz loves the pass more than anything in life and he has a quarterback with an arm. Couple this with the fact that, historically Cutler doesn't like to dump balls off to RBs and Forte will have another bad year.

The best thing that Forte has going for is a hope that the Bears Defense is back which could lead to the Bears playing more ball control. Which will give Forte the chances.

My bad. I read somewhere today that he wants to invlove Forte even more, but just read on Rotoworld that Forte should see 200 touches, hardly enough for a bounce back season. Let me just edit that post up above...

This is my favorite part of fantasy. I can't wait to see who are the surprises this year. There will be guys that nobody has even heard of, coming out of the woodwork.

RBs are the ones you have to snag earlier than later. I hate scouring the wavier wires for RBs. It's always so slim and depressing. At least with WRs you can always find a piss-poor serviceable player.
