Happy New Year So Far

I personally think that the ravens should....

1. wait to resign mason until after we see how the draft plays out (i love mason and his toughness, but business is business.
2. give up gaither for a draft pick in the middle of the 1st round. (move oher to LT, and sign a veteran RT for now)
3. with the 2 picks in the first round, look for a #2 reciever, and either a CB,DE, or TE
4. we need to hope for some compensatory picks, hopefully 2 decent ones (prob wont happen), or find a way to maybe trade our second round for a 3rd, and 4th round pick

on a side note........ i'm already excited about next year... moreso then i can ever remember. Bringing Boldin here... for what we had to give up for him, is HUGE. Mattison had our defense playing good at the end of the year, we just need to address acouple things. And we are just a good draft away from winning the superbowl. This will be our best shot in years... only worry for me.. is number 2 reciever, if we dont pick one up in the draft, please bring D mason back, hes been a blessing for bmore.

Yeah, give Gaither up..... Makes perfect sense. Everyone needs to get off the bandwagon. Why would we trade a future pro bowler for a possible future pro bowler?

this is what its about... we got gaither for a suplimental pick , i think a 7th rounder? True he can possibly be a future pro bowler, but the fact is, its gonna be hard to pay him the money a LT deserves.. when his contract is coming up soon. And honestly, he doesnt deserve that money just yet. What getting rid of him will do is:
ultimately give us a 1st round pick compared to the 7th round pick that we used on him.. and second, move Oher to LT for the following years (paying him rookie money) and buying us time so we can pay other players whose contracts our coming up that actually deserve the money.. like a Ngata...

Gaither played phenomenally until his neck injury. His production fell off but why are people voting him off the ship? How about you get injured midway through the season in the most serious area on your body and come back to play 3 weeks later. I personally want gaither back.

dont get me wrong... i love gaither, and i gained the utmost respect for him last year when he played with basically one arm and didnt allow a sack all game long. I'm not throwing him under the bus, I'm just thinking that if there is an opportunity (a good one), to let him go for a high draft pick.. it should be considered. I mean, thats why the ravens only tendered him for a first rounder, and not a first and third (to look at options with him). I only said that because his contract is up soon, and he will be wanting a good chunk of money. I have loved how hes played for us, and other then the injuries, on the field, hes a good player. People question his work ethic... but it is what it is, he shows up on sunday, thats ultimately what we should care about. I only said what i said cause there is a good chance we can ultimately turn a 7th round pick that we drafted acouple years back... into 1st round this upcoming year.
