The Blindside

This movie looks horrible honestly. But it must not be because it's up for best picture. It reminds me of a made for TV feel good g movie, saturday at noon.

Based on a true story movies to me are better sold by near unknown actors, rather than very known actors it just seems like pure fiction to me otherwise.

Oher said he was dissapointed with the movie and it made him look like he didn't know anything about football like he was a visiting alien from space.

Should I be wary of watching this movie as a Raven fan thinking this is his story when it's really just another Hollywood fiction loosly based on the truth?

As a diehard Raven fan how did you feel after you saw the movie? THX.

Watch it first and make your assumption because its different for everyone as you said. For me it was just one of those movies where you go in and enjoy a movie.

Yeah, you should probably watch it before you make an assumption like that.
I thought it was a great movie, not much about football, but still a great movie.

Michael Oher backstory aside, I thought it was a good movie well worth the price of admission. Don't mistake this for a film made strictly for Ravens fans or football fans, it's very much a film about a mother and her adopted son. In fact, mentions of the Ravens and Ole Miss are barely in the film, as it focuses solely on Oher's teen years.

Sure, the trailers make it seem like a cookie-cutter direct-to-video film, but the film is much better than it looks. The story is obviously predictable, but the intent of the movie isn't to be the next Schindler's List, Shawkshank Redemption, or Citizen Kane. It's a feel-good movie with strong, quality acting. There's plenty of creative license taken with the script, but it's not as if this is the first movie to do it nor will it be the last.

Franchise, I tend to agree with you on this movie, even though I haven't seen it - yet - I think that the story of a mother and her adopted son is one that should make for an interesting and inspiring bit of entertainment.

When this movie comes to DVD, I will be sure to obtain it and watch with an honest mind in regard to the story.
