Said General Manager Ozzie Newsome: “Anquan is a player who makes the tough catches and he is outstanding getting yards after catches. He will also help the running game with his blocking skills. “I’m definitely excited. For me, I’ve been hoping for this for a year since I first heard that the Ravens might be interested in me. I even talked with Ray [Lewis] about it a year ago. I really look at this as a great opportunity for me. They love football in Baltimore. I know that from when the Cardinals played there a few years ago. That place was loud, very impressive by the fans. The Ravens play a certain way. They play as hard and as physical as any team in the league, and I want to add to that. I think I play the way they play.

“I’m a piece of the puzzle for them. They have a great group of guys over there. They can run the ball behind a very good line with three running backs as good as anyone’s. The young quarterback, Joe Flacco, has already made his mark – two playoff teams in two years. That’s obviously pretty good. And, that defense… Everyone knows what they bring to every game. I’m just happy to be going to a team that has a lot going for it. I believe I can help them, maybe get them to another level. I think I’ll fit in with them. The bargain rate and shrewdness of the deal almost completely vindicates Ozzie Newsome for his perceived missteps in the pursuit of Brandon Marshall less than 24 hours earlier.

Not only was Boldin acquired at little cost to the Ravens, but Ozzie was also able to get the Cardinals to package a draft pick with Boldin [i]and[/i] an affordable contract extension was agreed upon immediately thereafter.

One was running commentary on Boldin as the pursuit was picking up, later re-named to confirm that Boldin was signed. Then the New Media team (a/k/a the Admins) issued the official statement on Boldin (i.e. the one that comes directly from the team.) The official one now stands as the only pinned thread on the news.

The other one still exists separately just because there was so much commentary about the pursuit as well as the immediate aftermath of the signing. To merge the two would be a mess since the official statement from the team would be lost in the sea of pre-signing commentary on Boldin.

It was a great day for ravens nation when this happened, we now have the depth and expierence needed at wide reciever to make us a threat on every down. Now just get flacco to get into a rythem with boldin and stallworth and ka-boom we have potential to stretch out the field against anybody!

Coming from a Cardinals fan first off let me tell you congratulations! I don't really know if all of you realize just what kind of player Q is. The man is a beast! I know all of us here in Phoenix are pretty upset that he left. All of you will see just what Q brings to the table. He runs people over, jukes them outta their shoes, and will catch any and everything thrown his way. You Ravens fans are lucky that you will get to witness his amazing play on Sundays. I have been a huge Q fan since day one when he came to a losing Cardinals team and changed the culture around here! I cannot say enough about what kind of player you guys got! You will all see, that's all I can say is that you all will see! And to think all you gave up is basically a 3rd rounder for a guaranteed pro bowler, wow! It makes me sick just thinking about that! So be prepared to witness greatness Ravens fans, because Q is out to prove something, and the man will be unstoppable! So head to the local team shop and pick you up a Anquan Boldin jersey as I guarantee he will be a fan favorite in Baltimore as he was here in Phoenix, (the Man is my favorite player of all time!) Hes a hard nose player whom I know will fit perfect on a hard nose team! So again congrats on making the steal of the century, (besides the time when the Ravens traded up with us and grabbed T. Suggs and left us with two bust.)
