true, but if they ran a "rape kit" on the victim, along with evidence that there was a rape, (and it comes back that it was Ben) then that should be really all the state needs to press charges against Ben... however if I am the police I am waiting until I am 110% sure that it is him before I make a charge against him..... because he has the money to afford a good attorney... and probably has public opinion on his side.....

If I am Ben Roethlessberger I would waive my right to a speedy trial, to hopefully let their evidence fade away, get "misplaced" .. etc

That's sort of what I was talking about. Rape cases don't usually have overwhelming evidence - the proverbial smoking gun isn't generally there. It's usually, "She wanted it." "No I didn't." And if he pays her off, it could all go away... according to Sporting News' theory.

No one is denying that Ben was with her so if they find evidence that Ben was with her, so what?

this happened about fifteen miles from where I live which is how I heard about it. It's not like I'm the kinda guy to browse golf blogs or anything.
Anyways, I know it isn't about the charges against ben but it does play into his character.

BohBalmerOsbohs sent me that same Arnold Palmer link via PM and, after reading it, I can't say I'm surprised to hear it. I mean, that's not to say that I presume to know Roethlisberger as a person, and there's always the chance that the story is complete fiction, but it wouldn't be shocking to hear that this is his true nature. Even though the media can portray a person in any light that they want, it's one of those cases where, "if it looks like a rat and smells like a rat, it probably is a rat."

These two cases could very well be a case of embezzlement, but they could also be true to a certain degree. Either way, Roethlisberger needs to be more careful about the company he keeps. I don't know why a guy in his late-twenties is trying to party with college-aged girls, but those reasons usually aren't good ones. Sure, he's a single guy and an eligible bachelor, but being the life of the party isn't the way to find your future wife -- not one worth keeping, anyway.

Not saying this is the case here, but there are far too many bogus lawsuits taken out against those with money. Remember when T-Sizzle's partner claimed he poured bleach on her and wanted $80 million, then a few days later dropped the suit and they all lived happily ever after.

People seem to be willing to smear somebody's (particularly those under the media microscope) name on a whim because they are disgruntled and, most likely, zealous.
