At least you're loyal. All Im hearing on the radio and from steelers fans I know, is that Ben is dead to them and they hope and pray he's traded...
I'm beginning to dislike a lot of our fan base. It's always an extreme:

Extreme A: Ben can rape a girl but so what, they didn't press charges and he wins games. If the Rooney's trade him I'm gone.

Extreme B: Ben violated the code of conduct, raped a girl (I don't care if there are no charges), this is the second time. He needs to go. I'm done with the Steelers.

*sigh*

I'm disappointed in him. I don't think he raped anyone, but I think he's a bit sleezy. I'm angry that he brought negative attention to our team and he deserves what ever is coming to him. I also support the Rooney's 100%. They are among the best and no fan has a place in questioning them.

I agree. I don't believe he raped anyone, but I believe he's made some pretty significantly idiotic decisions and put himself in positions where he's going to be taken advantage of.

Truth be told, as much as I hate the Steelers... I love our rivalry. There's this natural high on a Ravens/Steelers week and the games always keep you pinned to the edge of your seat. Losing that... would be sad for both teams.

I couldnt agree more. That being said, I have this weird feeling like something is about to happen to a Ravens player. Maybe not to this extreme, but something that may bring negative attention our way similar to the Ray and Jamal lewis incidents. Not saying Im wishing it, I just have a weird feeling that I hope is totally bogus

Why would the Steelers trade Ben? It's like saying the Ravens would trade Ray Lewis after his "murder" incident. You dont trade the face of a franchise when he is still in his prime.

Mr. Rooney probably would've traded Lewis. It's all about the ownership.

Hats off to the Rooney family with sticking to their morals. I thought when the bug hit their stars, they wouldn't be able to do it. But they stay true to their form.

I'm betting the Raiders pull a trade for him.

Well he is pretty speedy for a guy his size. :P

Just got a text from my brother a couple mins ago...
Before I even throw this out there, I want to state that I have NO IDEA where he got this info from, so take this with a grain of salt.

He's saying that the Steelers are trying to get Nnamdi Asomawhatever and a first for Big Beth.

This actually sounds like something Oakland would do. If there is any truth to this, I'll be pissed, because I'm tired of Oak screwing things up and raping themselves.
Moss for a fourth.
Gave away a first for Seymour.
Now (possibly) this??

That's what the Raiders fans have been saying, but the Raiders want to swap 1st's with us. That won't happen unless they give up a bit more. I honestly don't think Ben is going anywhere.

I think Nnamdi was involved in the McNabb trade talk as well. Considering that it's Oakland, it wouldn't really surprise me if it's true.

The Raiders need to be contracted if they trade Aso AND a 1st Round pick for Roethlisberger; that's just pure idiocy. Oh wait, it's the Raiders.

Absolutely it would.

And makes me wonder where we were last year before Nnamdi signed his new deal.
He was hinting that he wouldn't mind playing here; and we knew the C-Mac release was imminent.

Of course, money talks...but then again, with Ogden and McNair finally off the books, surely we could have found a way to pay the man.

Pittsburgh could very well walk out of this Roethlisberger situation a better team not only in the public's eye, but on the field as well if this were to happen.

I think food stands should change the "Roethlis-Burger" to some sort of sausage. You know, one of those german ones that get doused in beer, then feel guilty for eating afterwards...

Nismo, how in the heck could we have signed Aso? Ray + Suggs+ Foxy= HUGE MONEY.

I would have LOVED to have a shot at him but didn't he get like 17 mil per? Thats a cap killer

Yep he got $17M to stay in Oakland.
But we just cleared $10M in cap room taking Mc9 and Ogden off the books, and then we released CMac. And, we wouldn't have signed Foxworth (at least you would think not).
Now I'm not saying we should have matched Oakland's offer, because I'm not sure that anyone short of a Peyton is worth 15% of your cap space, but we could have gotten creative and thrown something on the table and see if he bit on it.
I dunno...not sure why I even brought that up. I'm satisfied with Foxworth, but I just wish we would have taken a shot at him.

Apparently the Arizona Cardinals have contacted the Steelers about Rothlisberger.

Arizona contacts Steelers

This does make a lot of sense for the Cardinals. They have the pieces, but no QB. Also to note. Ken Wisenhunt use to be the offensive Coordinator for the Steelers. So he's very familiar with Big Ben.

They pick way too low, unless they give up this year's and next year's #1, but it would be a perfect fit and would keep Ben out of the AFC altogether.

They do pick low, but I'm sure a package could be made if a team is out of the top 10 picks.

His current employers know him too and they don't want him.

Personally I'd love to see him land in St Louis (who should trade Steven Jackson) or even better in Oakland.
I would prefer to leave the Truck in St. Louis. With our poor tackling skills at times, Steven Jackson could pick up some decent yardage.

But on the other hand, he wouldn't last in a physical division, physically.
