Watching ESPN 24x7 is kinda hard for students and working professionals.

I love Mason, but I don't want to be "put" in my "place". Plus you made a topic saying why we shouldn't sign Marshall? Lol
Because of the play calling and the fact that Cameron simply doesn't seem to know how to use the talents of the team. If we got Marshall, he would probably end up running reverses or throwing 2 yard out routes. L-O-L

Bryant isn't terrible. As unproductive as he's been during his career, he's very talented.

Both of them are injury-prone but the Ravens will simply have to roll the dice.

Its funny how people are STILL angry at the FO for not going after Marshall when a deal would never have materialized. The Broncos would never have traded him here with the Seahawks offering such a high draft pick.
I don't think it is the Broncos choice. If we give him a really good contract and he agrees, the Broncos have no choice but to match the offer, or let him go.

Everyone knowing that the Broncos don't want him on the team... makes it kind of hard to offer a 1st round pick, especially a high first round pick, when you can get him for less in a trade.

Yea but Cam had Vincent Jackson, Malcom Floyd, LT, Antonio Gates and Manumaleuna.. We had Mason.

Why is everyone complaining that we cant get marshall now? Sure we love him, but theres nothing we can offer that would equal the sixth overall pick in the draft. Lets hope we land Boldin, and Bryant/Walter as a complementary guy and we'll be fine.

I turned on ESPN this morning and heard them debating whether Jay-Z was the greatest rapper in history or not. This is why the Ocho Cinco News Network will grow and survive... because ESPN is a joke anymore.

What everyone was referring to was the board's policy on posting news items.

All news items (including rumors) are to be supported with a link as evidence. Otherwise, the thread gets closed. This is not only to protect against unsubstantiated claims, but to make sure that everyone is receiving the same information from the same source. However, in this case, because several sources have since confirmed the story, there's no longer a need for a link -- but generally speaking, every news-related thread needs one.

As for the transaction, this should come as no surprise to everyone. The Seahawks were simply a more attractive trade partner because they have TWO first-round picks and have a high pick that they're willing to part with compared to where the Ravens select. Not only that, but it's out of conference, so there's no immediate threat of Marshall coming back to burn the Broncos, especially in the playoffs.

If you're a team trying to part with a disgruntled player, you never trade them within the conference, you especially don't trade them within the division, and you always go for the more attractive offer. Because business logic dictates that you maximize your value, the Broncos did so by going after the Seahawks' draft pick than the Ravens. If you were Denver, you'd do exactly the same. Why pick at #25 when you can pick in the top 10 or the top 20?

Well we know Denver doesn't want him, we don't know that they are willing to part with him for peanuts. Maybe you're right, but it seems that all things being even, Seattle has more to offer, given their draft status.

Btw, i'm not anti-marshall or anything like that. Obviously we'd be a better team with him on the field. But i'm unsure about selling them farm to get him.

Exactly. Running the ball, and playing good defense wont get you to a superbowl anymore. Just look at last years steelers. They had the #1 defense, yet they had to pass their way to a championship. You must be a good passing team, if you want to beat teams like the colts, saints, or steelers.
The only reason we want to target our passing game this offseason is because it's our weak link. It's not necessarily the one and only key to winning a Super Bowl. If the running game were our weak link, we'd be searching for a new RB etc...

True. Other than Michael Jackson, the team has never had a difference-maker at WR.

But what makes you think Ozzie and co. aren't trying to secure Boldin or Bryant right now? Do you honestly think they're just sitting back and waiting for the draft?

I'm tired of talking about Marshall but Burleson is an average-at-best WR. The fact that he went to the Lions also shows he cares little for winning.
Yeah and if Marshall goes to the Seahawks, who have won 9 games over the last two seasons, the same could be said about him too I guess.

You have no idea what Seattle is offering. The only report I've seen saying they anything says they COULD offer their 1st round pick, their OTHER first round pick, or they could offer less since there's supposedly nobody else really interested enough to compete with them in a bidding war.
Yes I do because Adam Schefter(who I'm pretty sure is in the know) said Seattle will offer it's 1st round pick to Denver and likely pay him top dollar.

And if no one else is truly interested in getting into a bidding war for Marshall, that proves that shows the Ravens' aren't fools for not going after him either.

No. There are numerous great players on average to poor teams and everyone around the league knows it.

Burleson isn't considered a good WR because the statistics back it up. He's never even flashed top WR ability.

Glad to hear that.. Lets rap up Boldin as soon as possible FO.. I have confidence you'll do whatever it takes to improve Flacco's weapons.. We cant go wrong in giving up a third rounder for Boldin.

Is he worth top dollar for a team that has young talent that needs to be locked up like the Ravens?
