Marshall To Seahawks

The league is becoming all about passing. Look at the Super Bowl winning Saints. If we have no one to throw the ball to, were not even going to sniff the super bowl.

No what makes them "inept" is not ever having a number 1 receiver since we became the Ravens in '96. What makes them "inept" is promising your young RB and QB to give them weapons for next year and you sit back and watch as Burleson and Marshall get signed away and dont even try and lock down Boldin or Bryant.
True. Other than Michael Jackson, the team has never had a difference-maker at WR.

But what makes you think Ozzie and co. aren't trying to secure Boldin or Bryant right now? Do you honestly think they're just sitting back and waiting for the draft?

I'm tired of talking about Marshall but Burleson is an average-at-best WR. The fact that he went to the Lions also shows he cares little for winning.

I wouldn't call TO average. At the very least, he would open things up on offense if he came here.

As for Walter, I just read on rotoworld.com that their GM is trying real hard to re-sign him. If successful, that would leave Bryant and TO as free agents, and Boldin as trade.

Ozzie and FO are just making our head spinning for answers. I hope they do something surprisingly good in a positive way.

Haha I love how everyone wants Walter to sign with another team so bad. Please just trade a 3rd for Q then draft a WR and we'll call it a successful offseason.

Hey lets go give an unproven CB a payday of a lifetime, but lets not even try to go for a top 3 receiver in the NFL....... Makes perfect sense.

All of you people who discount everything Derrick Mason has done for this team are disgusting.

Anyone can attest to the fact that I am probably one of the biggest PRO-Marshall posters on this board, but I definitely only thought he would be worthwhile because of having Mason on the other side of the field.

If the Ravens lost Mason, and just has Marshall in his place... but Mark Clayton or Stallworth on the other side, then they would probably be in the same place as they are because defenses would still just be able to focus all attention to one receiver.

Derrick Mason is still one of the best receivers in the game. Most of the other great receivers happen to be tall guys with plenty of height and vertical leap. Mason can get up in the air, but he just doesn't have the size to be a touchdown machine. He's still incredibly valuable and losing him would be an even worse move by the Ravens than them not going after any of these other receivers.

If Mason ends up going to another team, it's likely going to be a contender such as the Patriots, and all of you discounting Derrick Mason will be put in your place.

News flash: TO, Anquan Boldin and others are still out there. And the draft also. Don't go thinking that Marshall is the only one who can fill the need and get us over the top. Now I will be mad if we bring Clayton and Williams back, but until then, there's nothing to be pissed about.
EXACTLY! A 3rd for Boldin? Come on and lock him up already, he's just as good as Marshall besides the fact that he gets hurt. Marshall only looks better because he doesnt have Larry Fitzgerald running routes opposite of him on the field..

Exactly. Running the ball, and playing good defense wont get you to a superbowl anymore. Just look at last years steelers. They had the #1 defense, yet they had to pass their way to a championship. You must be a good passing team, if you want to beat teams like the colts, saints, or steelers.

Bryant isn't terrible. As unproductive as he's been during his career, he's very talented.

Both of them are injury-prone but the Ravens will simply have to roll the dice.

Its funny how people are STILL angry at the FO for not going after Marshall when a deal would never have materialized. The Broncos would never have traded him here with the Seahawks offering such a high draft pick.

No. McDaniels benched him for missing treatment. I could be wrong but the veterans on the team were fine with the benching too.

You have no idea what Seattle is offering. The only report I've seen saying they anything says they COULD offer their 1st round pick, their OTHER first round pick, or they could offer less since there's supposedly nobody else really interested enough to compete with them in a bidding war.

Not sure how you can come up with such bogus statements. Every single team in the league had and still has a shot at him. The final 8 teams even have a shot, because he's not unrestricted.
