Interesting but not particularly surprising, I'm assuming by 'interest declining' Ozzie has weighed that the off the field problems are too much on marshall, pity, if he was a better person he could be such a role model to young players, walter is a good talent and boldin for a 3rd is an absolute steal. will be interesting to see what direction we take this.

How does a guy like Burleson command $25mil? That means when Boldin steps up to the plate to collect, his figure is going to be ridiculous. Marshall is going to be too much $$. Anyone going to be angry if we don't pick-up any WR in the off-season?

Keep Washington Lose Bannan we can spare bannan because there is always talent at Dt in the draft i would like to see the ravens pick up a Dt the size of siragoosa 340 is hard to move around and that would help Ray Lewis.

Leave it to the lions to give 25 MILLION to a receiver who's only ever had MORE THAN 30 CATCHES <---- 3 times in 7 seasons... Way to raise the bar on stupidity detroit, quit having love affairs with your damn receivers.

ravenssuper if we take boldin AND walters we aren't going to waste a first or 2nd rounder on receiverl i agree with taking a de/olb hybrid; a corner; or tight end; or possibly safety depending who's available with the first 2 picks

The Ravens have a lot of potential in this draft. In the end I agree that giving up veterans like Bannan and Mason is hard to swallow but they know as well as anybody that this is a business. Get the best young player at a sensible price is the way to go. I personally do not like Boldin coming to the Ravens. He is always hurt for what the Ravens need to give up. There are plenty of WR's at the same price that are young and can go along with Joe for a long time. I like the comments of getting that next Ngata for defense. A big massive 340 pounder to help Ray and Suggs up front.

I'm not worried about getting a 'new Ngata' he isn't that old, i'm worried about resigning the one we already have next season and resigning gaither and mcclain this year

To anybody worried about the Boldin possibility, Burleson had roughly 60 catches for 800yds and 3tds. Boldin had 80 catches for 1000yds and 4tds. Boldin should command slightly more money than Burleson but not a whole lot. They had similar numbers, they should demand similar money.

Boldin has had a much better career than Burleson and could command a whole lot more...

Nate Burleson commanded that much because he's been the only Seahawks receiver who has consistently produced over the years. Deion Branch, TJ Housch, and (insert random 3rd receiver here) have been injury prone and what have you, while Burleson has been steady and reliable.

He's like Derrick Mason, but faster and he actually catches wide open throws.

Yeah that is bit of a low blow there. I wish I could vote your post down @OrganizedChaos2052, but I can't. Derrick Mason dropped one open ball this year. Nate burleson has been in and out of trouble since entering the league for substance abuse, dwi, and other off-field problems. Mason has been nothing less than consistently stellar for 13 years.

Look guys...i hate to take time from work but i have to here. we all know (for a fact) that we have some serious needs for our team. but i think what many dont realize, is the sheer complexity of Ozzies job. Yes i agree that marshall would be fantastic here, if it were where he wants to be. But spending all that cash for a guy while jeopardizing other contracts (Ngata etc..)would be flat out dumb. Thats where alot of teams really fail, its the long term effects. Look at what Ditka did for Ricky Williams or right down the road in D.C. Look at that and how much money the Skins have spent, for what? i know thats extreme, but my point is that is what can happen when you look for an immediate impact. But...i do think we need immediate results and there are ways to get them if we stay patient, like OZZIE IS DOING. Just like with medication, if you want immediate results, you must realize that they typically come with big potential side effects. for us, they would be stunting our growth overall as a team. The Marshall thought is awesome, but if we found out how much that could screw us in the long-run, would you really entertain that and spend that much?...not if you are smart. Too many teams play the offseason like Vegas, and thats why there are so few dynasties in this league. you could count them on one hand since the inception of the NFL. I too, during last preseason thought that making the huge spend for marshall was a great idea. I like him a lot. But in retrospect, it would have hurt us financially this year and next year and possibly the following year, thats a fact. But now i feel differently about this draft class thats on the hilltop. There definitely are some really fantastic (youtube them) prospects out there that could start, and possibly be #1's, and if we do get Boldin (which is a STEAL for one 3rd rdr) plus a Benn, or Tate...then we sandbag our defense and build a Dynasty without sacrificing our long term goals or the defense that we CHERISH. In closing...my Dad told me this 20 yrs ago when i had to have this car i wanted as a first car and it didnt happen. He told me to hold out because no matter how great that car was, there will always be another thats even better. And he was right! Hold the line Gents!!! We will be fine under Ozzie, hes our General and he will get it done.

I agree with kadbron, we need to focus on the long run. That is why all along I have been against getting Marshall from the beginning. Getting Marshall would boost our wrs drastically, but could also cause us to not be able to help at other positions. Do you guys realize that we would have to give up a 1st rd pick to get him when we could just give a 3rd for Boldin. Even with the risk of Boldin getting injured, you take the same risk with Marshall and his whining off the field problems. Plus Ozzie can turn that 1st rd pick into a pro bowl player as he usually does. Why not have two great players instead of just one?

If we do get boldin for a 3rd round pick, i think we should draft the tight end out of OU to replace Heap next year. Then we should draft a young, fast defensive end that can rush the passser. In the 4th 5th 6th and 7th round we can increase our depth in the secondary, the o-line, d-line, and linebacker.

Unbelievable, B Marsh is arguably the best WR that would be available and he is attainable! Why is he on his way to Seattle!! Sounds like the ball is about to be dropped!
