Where do you think he will go?coming off his worse year not a lot of teams will look for him.I know he might not be signed as a starter but he could be a very good back up if needed.

The Lions could pick him up as an insurance policy for Matthew Stafford, and he'd certainly be a better option than Daunte Culpepper. However, Delhomme could also land in Cleveland if the Browns go through with their plans to release Derek Anderson and restart the Brady Quinn experiment; the Browns will need a fallback option if Quinn struggles early and Delhomme could be the stopgap solution. They already know what they're getting in Anderson, so no need to keep him as a backup for his price tag.

I think he might go to one of Seattle, Cleveland, Arizona or Detroit. So does this mean the Panthers will go after Vick?

Why not here to replace Troy Smith as backup. A vet who has faced some adversity might be nice to work with Flacco.

Delhomme's arm isn't even half what it used to be, though. His recovery from Tommy-John surgery wasn't as much of a success as first thought and his entire game has deteriorated greatly since. He singlehandedly cost the Panthers their playoff game against the Cardinals in 2008; I wouldn't feel comfortable putting the game in his hands if Flacco were to go down with an injury. If it came down to Delhomme and Troy Smith in that situation, I'd go with Troy Smith.

I was assuming that Troy would not be here. He said he wants out and we low-tendered him. I suspect some team might take him for a 5th.

I think Cleveland will pick him up and I do think if he's equipped with the right weapons, he can bounce back to a certain degree but not that high. He said in his press conference that he is a slinging QB and last year he played 'not to make mistakes' and that is indeed a bad way to play and Delhomme's realized that he's been playing that way, psychology is a big part of the game and it can cause bad years like that deceptively. This release is a big wake up call to that and I think wherever he goes he'll bounce back to a certain degree but I think it'll be at Cleveland.

you see the tears he cried during press conference? Wonder how Steve Smith feels they are good friends from what I have heard

Sure, why not Arizona? He's already proven he can throw to guys in Cardinals uniforms.

I fully expect Vick to be the starting quarterback for the Panthers. I also fully expect him to fail, miserably.

Really the only thing that was surprising was Carolina giving Delhomme that fat contract last year before the '09 season started. The wheels were falling off at the end of the '08 season , he was personally responsible for the Panthers playoff loss (I think it was 4 or 5 ints), then gets an extension. ???

Kinda of like when the Ravens gave Billick an extension and then fired him the following season.

I could really see his best shot being in Cleveland. With Holmgren there he would be a perfect stop gap solution until Mike figures out which way he wants to take that team. Theres alot of question marks there and Holmgren will get the answers. Whether it works or not, well, we'll see up close (twice a year).

Now that the browns cut anderson Id say its a likely landing spot for Delhomme

ust got an ESPN mobile alert that he's talking to the Browns. Probably even more likely now that they're also shopping around Quinn.
