Houshmandzadeh

26 posts in this topic

Although he is getting up there in years and isnt the best receiver, I think he would make a radical contribution to the team and considering the Seahawk's glaring problems at QB and RB, why not trade Willis and Troy and possibly a low round pick for Houzmenzadah.

Of course, there are many other moves I would prefer that would allow us to keep McGahaee, but lets say we pick up no more FA's and only a 3rd or lower round WR. Houzmenzadah would help us out GREATLY. Of course, if we get anyone else of worthy talent (Dez Bryant, Antonio Bryant, Brandon Marshall, Anquan Bouldin, etc) I wouldnt do this, but I was just wondering what you guys thought of this?

Yea, like I said it is more of a desperation move if there is no other way to get a WR, but I see the main trade bait is a RB in McGahee who strongly outshines Jones and Forsett, but Troy would be an added bonus for them to take a chance on at QB because Wallace is decent at best and Hassleback is washed up and I wouldnt be suprised if this is his last year. Might as well go with the young talent who can run rite? And the pick would be nice for them to get more young talent.

his contract is terrible. Was overpaid and we can just sign a younger better version in Kevin Walter. Sure walter isnt as good now but with the way TJ is degressing it wouldnt at all surprise me if he was better midway through this year. Walter just seems like an Newsome type signing. I would like it a lot but only if we traded for Marshall or Boldin or drated a guy like Dez Bryant.

This teams needs playmakers. If we went out and signed Walter, traded for Marshall and spent our 4th rounder on a guy like Mike Williams we would have a very good Wr group

1 - Marshall
2 - Walter
3 - Mason
4 - Stallworth
5 - Williams

Thats a very good group of guys for Flacco to go to work with.

I think the Ravens will have acquired a WR by late March.

As for Troy, there are better pro prospects than him in the draft that Seattle will likely draft.

Umm, who. Maybe later rounders, but the only guys I can think of that the Seahawks could pick up are Tebow or Pike in the early third or LeFevor in later rounds. Bradford and Clausen will probably already be gone.

Not saying they would agree to this trade simply because of Troy, but it might be something to push them over the edge and even with a rookie QB I wouldnt call it wise to start a 3rd round or later QB without at least taking a chance on Troy for insurance, simalur to the Bucs starting Byron Leftwich above Josh Freeman in the beginning of the year.

Yeah, Mason in the slot, don't see it happening.

Williams isn't good.

There's no guarantee Bradford or Clausen will be gone.

And the difference between Leftwich and Troyis that Leftwich actually had plenty of starting experience in the NFL prior to joining TB. No NFL team, even one as lowly as Seattle is going to take a chance on Troy and start him.

Yes he is. If it weren't for his off-the-field issues, he'd likely be considered the second best WR in this year's draft class.

Watch his highlights in the USF game. Going against NFL-caliber DBs, he dominated them at times.

Why would we need an aging possession receiver? He's basically a taller Derrick Mason. Anyways I don't think he'll be traded unless the Seahawks go WR in the first.

Housh is a #2 WR. A very good #2 but not a #1. If we were interested in him then we would've offered him a contract last off-season. Now it makes absolutely no sense to give up picks for him and his overpaid contract a year later. He is a possession receiver too, he isn't the big play WR we have been looking for. We have enough possession guys here in Mason, Clayton etc. And last but not least, i will never forget Housh disrespecting our team on several occasions, especially when he was talking about how losing to us was a fluke and that we aren't a good team when we were the #2 seed in the AFC. Say what you want about ochocinco, but that guy gave us respect when it was due despite losing to us. I hate whosyourmama and cant ever imagine him a raven.

First off, NFL teams don't want Troy Smith.

As for T.J., I don't see the Ravens going after him at all.

I would rather get Boldin or Marshall, if were sending picks I want people who have been constantly productive. TJ isn't worth a pick and we could have tried to sign him list year.

Mike Williams has monster potential, if he can get his head straight.

I would rather take a chance on a kid like him than risk on a Brandon Marshall. Anyway, according to the Sun's Jamison Hemsley, we are not going after Marshall.

Your group of WR Looks more like something off of Madden. We wouldnt be able to pay them all with mason set to retire in a year we will have to get another young WR maybe Via Draft and that would cost if its in the first 2 rounds
Marshall wants big big big bucks If Stallworth has a good year he might want a pretty penny as weel

Mike Willaims is a beast. I've always liked T.J, though. I know we arent goin after him, especially now that we have Bouldin, but it was just a thought. If we did lose out on Boldin, and Marshall and Bryant didnt sign with us, I'd rather have T.J than no one especially for just Troy and Willis. It would be better to have T.J, Mason, and Stallworth than Mason, Clayton, and Stallworth.

I think that there are plenty of teams out there that would love to have Troy Smith , Seahawks , Browns , Rams , Bucs , Raiders etc ... We don't get rid of him unless it really benefits us and TJ don't benefit us at all . I think we keep him another year and focus on the other issues and not open another can of worms , especially at the QB position where we are solid . We need to have a plan for the CB and Kicker problem that is what the focus should be now and maybe getting one more receiver if need be .

If any of those teams would really like to have Troy, they'll come for him.
