My Offseason Dream

Okay so everyone wants B-Marsh and trust me id love to have him. But lets be honest the price is way to steep. So let me give you the breakdown on what i think would be the most successful route for the ravens.

1) Sign one more wr via free agency.(Walter, Bryant, and yes even T.O,etc)Everyone is apposed to signing TO and yeah he pissed us all off. But the guy is at the latter end of his career, he didnt fuss at all last year. I think with him , stallworth, mason. Already our group of recievers will have greatly improved.

2) Sign A cb via free agency. A guy like Liegh Bodden would be a great pick and definitely help shore up the secondary.

3) Draft a Reciver/Tight in the first or second round, hopefully Arrelious Benn, or Golden Tate. If we could possibly get a guy like Gronkowski in the second round are offense would be AMAZING! Depending on how they pan out. But I have a good feeling about those players. Heap is a vet that could teach Gronkowski just like Sharpe taught him.

Of course there are a lot of other things we have to adress but those are my top needs. With those weopons on Offense Rice would have a stellar year.

Let me know what you think!

Wr Core:Owens/Walter/Bryant,mason ,Benn/Tate, Stallworth
Te : Heap, Gronkowski
Cb: Foxworth, Bodden,Draft Pick, Carr

Grammatical errors aside I think it's pretty plausible. However, it seems offense-heavy, and we do need to get younger at safety and DL, so we're definitely gonna look to address those in the draft, and I think they will be more important than offense due to our ability to sign FAs that can definitely play. This Final Eight rule will be a beeyotch to overcome but I think...

Lose Pryce/Gain Bryant
Lose Tony Moll/Gain Westbrook?
Lose Frank Walker/Gain FA DE

Anyone have the full list of free agents to be in the NFL

As old as Pryce is, I think the Ravens will try to keep him. He was one of the few players along the d-line that brought pressure last year and would be a good situational pass rusher.

The Ravens have no need for Westbrook. Rice is a younger version of him and there are plenty of other capable ball-carriers on the roster.

Like Pryce, I think Frank will be back too. His penalties are maddening but with his play-off experience, he's a great 4th or 5th CB.

Pryce I would love to have back, but Walker?

God help me.

Lose T.O. and I like this idea. If we signed Bryant and Walter, there would no need to bring in T.O.

I'm pretty sure that he meant either of the 3, not all of them collectively. I like this scenario, except I'd definitely rather have Bryant and Walter before Owens. I'm a big fan of Benn and I though Leigh Bodden would've been a good addition since the Season he left the Browns.

I doubt anyone wants Walker starting but how many 4th or 5th string CBs have started in the play-offs like he has? He's a good player to have for depth.

Walker's returning anyway.

You have the right mindset but because we were part of the final 8 teams in the playoffs there are restrictions on who we can sign. We're restricted to signing only 1 UFA whose base salary would be more than $4.7?? mill. Somewhere in the $4.5-5.5 price range.

If we sign T.O. we won't be able to sign Leigh Bodden. Leigh Bodden and Dunta Robinson are the top 2 unrestricted free agent cornerbacks this year and will command top dollar.

I would love to have both tho! Especially T.O.

No, no I'm just giving Walker a bad time. He turns it on the playoffs but man we need him to do that in the season also. I don't know how many walls I've hit everytime I hear he gets penalized for holding or interference. But I understand, let the the man come back.

Back to the topic though.. I love every detail besides the TO pick up. Just like you said, he's in the latter part of his career, no thank you. Don't we already have someone like that on this team who everyone is saying he should be the number 2 now? Mason is more talented then Terrell Owens. Yea, I said it. I'm hoping for Arrelious Benn in the first. He has really boosted his stock, and Ozzie and co. know that. He's an Anquan Boldin clone and will go over the midle, something we don't have. Love the Leigh Bodden pick, he would be great with our secondary, especially if Washington isn't brought back. Gronkowsi in the second would give me a boner, but I don't think we'd be going WR then TE, but we'll see. We still need a lot of defensive help. Finally, just trade for Brandon Marshall please.

there is too much defensive talent in this draft for us to go straight offense in the first two rounds of the draft. I think it goes either def. in the first and off second, or the other way around. I was intrigued by Sean Weatherspoon, the LB from Mizzou, or the DE from Michigan, even the OLB from Ohio State (sorry, can't remember their names). There is no way these guys will be there in the second round and we always draft BPA. I don't know that Ozzie and co. see the receivers on the same level as the defensive talent available. They may feel safer drafting a WR in the 2nd. What is obvious is that we have zero depth at TE and may just as well take Gresham or Pitta if available. DB is also very deep in this draft. I hate speculating because after the combine I was glad I am not responsible for our picks, there is just so much talent in this draft that my head is spinning. I would say this though, I would be very happy if we got Arrelius Benn... don't care where (preferably in the 2nd). This guy is a beast. He's built like a horse and ran a 4.4 40yd dash. Amazing for his size.

BTW I don't think we make a big splash in the FA market. I just feel we'll depend heavily on the draft. I would mind picking up Dunta Robinson or Leigh Bodden though.

Mason more talented than T.O. :th_snapoutofit: I don't like T.O. but he has more ability than anyone currently on our roster. Not one receiver on our current roster is a future hall of famer, like T.O. or not he will be, the #'s speak for them self. If teams had to pick between these 2 and skill was the only factor this wouldn't even be a contest.

I'd have to admit Walker was horable, but I think toward the end of the year he really stepped it up when we lost some key players so, I think we should keep the guy for a year or two more.
